Winonaโ€™s eyes were red as she glanced at Yvette, looking incredibly frightened. Anyone unaware might have thought Yvette had done something to her. โ€œYvie, I didnโ€™t mean anything by it. I need to prepare for Mr. Griffinโ€™s arrival tomorrow, so Iโ€™ll leave first.โ€ She glanced at Jeremiah pitifully, offering an affectionate look before limping away. She was determined to annoy Yvette, even if she couldn't ruin their relationship for the time being.

Winona hadn't walked far when she heard Jeremiah say to Yvette, โ€œLetโ€™s go. Iโ€™ve ordered your favorite steak and milkshake. Itโ€™ll be ready when we get there.โ€ Winona paused, unable to resist turning around. She watched them walk away. Finally, overcome with emotion, she sat on a nearby bench and burst into tears.

She swore to herself she would repay Yvette double for the humiliation and wouldn't let Bonnie off the hook either. Winona sat dazed for a while before calling Victor; he was the only one she could rely on.

Meanwhile, Victor, receiving Winonaโ€™s call, was lost in a womanโ€™s embrace. Lately, Winona hadn't contacted him much, and unable to bear loneliness, heโ€™d been with a young model. Victor loved Winona, but for him, love and sex were separate. His love didn't prevent him from sleeping with other womenโ€”not uncommon for men.

โ€œHey, Winona, whatโ€™s up?โ€ Tender hands caressed his chest as he spoke, his voice trembling slightly, a mixture of guilt and excitement. He covered the phone, whispering, โ€œBe good, okay?โ€ The woman, sensing his mood, knew men often acted nonchalant while enjoying themselves.

Victor comforted her, then picked up the phone again. Winona remained silent, unaware this gave Victor time to flirt, making things worse. Victor asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Winona, say something. Did something happen? Iโ€™m really worried.โ€

Finally, Winona sobbed, her crying growing louder. Hearing her distress, Victor realized something was seriously wrong. Winona rarely cried like this. Her tears dispelled any lingering thoughts of casualness. Winona was different; with others, it was fleeting, but she was his childhood sweetheart, his future wife. He genuinely cared for her and worried something had happened. He got dressed, saying, โ€œWinona, please donโ€™t cry. Where are you? Iโ€™ll be there right away.โ€

Winona replied, her voice tearful but her tone satisfied, "I'm at school, Victor. You don't need to come."

Victor was relieved she was at school, but her insistence struck him as odd. He told her to stay put and wait for him, then hung up, grabbed his keys, and left.

The young model was unhappy to see him go. โ€œVictor, itโ€™s so late. Canโ€™t you just stay?โ€ He found her intriguing and coaxed her gently before leaving, leaving her fuming in the hotel room. She thought, Victorโ€™s fiancรฉe sure is a tough one.

Jeremiah had reserved their usual VIP room at the steakhouse, pre-ordering Yvetteโ€™s meal and even milkshakes from the next-door shop. Their food was ready upon arrival.

During dinner, Bonnie stared at Jeremiah, then at Yvette, who was engrossed in her steak. She blurted out, โ€œJeremiah, is Winona trying to flirt with you?โ€

Andrew choked on his steak, grabbing his drink and taking several gulps before kicking Bonnie under the table. Bonnie, that fool! he thought. How dare she ask that? Who gave her the nerve?

Bonnie looked at him, puzzled. โ€œWhy did you kick me? I just accidentally stepped on your foot. Are you still holding a grudge?โ€

Jeremiah paused, fork mid-air, glancing at Andrewโ€™s grimaces before casually placing salad on Yvetteโ€™s plate. Seeing Yvette ignore Bonnie, he felt disappointed. His voice was light, but his gaze remained fixed on Yvette. โ€œIโ€™ve given my heart to someone.โ€

Andrew and Bonnie instantly looked at Yvette. Three pairs of eyesโ€”one intense, two gossipingโ€”made it hard for Yvette to ignore them. She slowly lifted her head, took a sip of her milkshake, and remained silent.

Bonnie started to ask, โ€œJeremiah, is the personโ€”โ€ but Yvette interrupted, โ€œBonnie, have some food.โ€ Bonnie sheepishly zipped her lips. Seeing Yvette wasnโ€™t angry but uninterested, she dropped it. Sheโ€™d meant to help Jeremiah but utterly failed.

Throughout dinner, Jeremiah and Yvette barely spoke, a typical scenario of him serving and her eating, while Andrew and Bonnie bickered.

Victor arrived at the school in his luxury car, spotting Winona on a bench. He rushed to her, โ€œWinona, whatโ€™s wrong? What happened? Did someone bully you?โ€

Seeing Victor after enduring Jeremiah's blow and the others' contempt, Winona's pent-up grievances erupted. She hugged him tightly, catching a whiff of floral perfume. Her expression changed instantly. She hadn't seen him for three days, and the scent wasn't hers, meaning he'd been with another woman.

Swallowing her disgustโ€”Victor was her only recourseโ€”she pretended not to notice. โ€œVictor, Iโ€™m so upset. Yvieโ€ฆ Yvieโ€ฆโ€

Hearing Yvetteโ€™s name, Victor vented his anger before even knowing the details. โ€œItโ€™s her again! Why canโ€™t sheโ€”โ€
