Listen to this chapter:

Tony, lost in the joy of seeing Sienna, was oblivious to her impatient expression. Excitedly, he extended his hand, nodding and bowing obsequiously. "Hello, Ms. Sterling," he said, "I'm Tony, a first-level makeup artist at Seacrity. I didn't expect to run into you here—what a coincidence!"

Sienna gave a cold nod. "Is there something you need?" she asked, thinking, This guy must be here for Winona. I don't have time for this.

Tony didn't mind that Sienna hadn't shaken his hand; he considered it perfectly normal. Meeting her, however, made him acutely aware of his place. He realized that his current success stemmed from a degree of cunning. Had Nellie not manipulated him into believing Yvette was merely a pawn in an arranged marriage, he wouldn't have treated Yvette so rudely.

He withdrew his hand. Despite Sienna's indifference, his enthusiasm only grew. He assumed she was here to see Winona and had ignored Yvette. How could Yvette possibly merit a personal visit from someone as important as Sienna? If Sienna was here for Winona Chambers, they must be close. And if close to Winona, she likely disliked Ms. Zeller, a member of the Chambers family. Seeing an opportunity to ingratiate himself, Tony asked, "Are you here to see Winona, the grand designer?"

Sienna was puzzled. Why would I be here for Winona? she thought. She considered explaining, but decided against it.

Seeing Sienna's silence, Tony took it as confirmation. He became even more convinced she was there for Winona and continued, "You wouldn't believe it, Mrs. Chambers and Winona have been so kind, but Ms. Zeller's makeup artist got into trouble, so they sent me. But Ms. Zeller is so arrogant, she can't tell good from bad, has a terrible temper, and she's nothing like Winona. Growing up in the mountains, how could she compare to someone like Winona, who's been pampered her whole life? I was just being nice, offering to do her makeup, and she kicked me out and threw me to the ground! If I weren't such a gentleman, I'd have demanded an explanation!" His voice was tinged with grievance, unaware that Sienna's face was darkening, her eyes growing more murderous.

Is this idiot badmouthing Yvette to me? My boss? My benefactor? My friend? Sienna thought, looking around. Where does he get the courage? I wish there were a hammer in this room! Her smile grew colder.

After some time, Tony noticed Sienna hadn't reacted. Logically, she should agree with me, he thought. Something felt wrong, so he looked up at her.

Sienna smiled broadly and beckoned him closer with a finger. Thinking things were going well, Tony eagerly approached. As he drew near, Sienna, still smiling, extended a leg and kicked him in the stomach. Completely unprepared, he fell to the ground, unable to rise.

Nearby assistants and interns were stunned. None moved.

Tony, lying on the floor, was equally shocked. Why did Sienna kick me?

Ignoring the onlookers, Sienna approached Tony, looking down at him. With a hint of guilt, she said, "Sorry, just a reflex. Whenever I see someone rushing over, I feel like kicking them. Let me help you up." Her face was full of sincerity.

Slightly suspicious, Tony figured Sienna hadn't targeted him deliberately. Perhaps it was a reflex. He extended his hand.

Sienna took his hand, and as Tony reveled in the softness of her touch, she released her grip. He landed flat on the floor again. A loud crack followed by Tony's agonized scream echoed through the room. His tailbone was broken.

Disgusted, Sienna retrieved a tissue, meticulously wiped her hand, tossed the tissue onto Tony, and walked upstairs without looking back. The assistants finally reacted, dragging Tony away.

Still on the floor, Tony couldn't understand Sienna's treatment. "Sienna, what did I do to offend you? Why are you treating me like this?" he shouted angrily.

Sienna stopped, turned, and looked at him with disgust. "You didn't offend me, but you made one mistake," she said coldly. "I'm not here for Winona; I'm here for the arrogant Ms. Zeller you were just badmouthing." With that, she went upstairs.

If Tony still didn't understand, he was an idiot. I'm such a fool... Nellie said Yvette had no friends. How could she know someone like Sienna? He had no time to dwell on this. He urgently told the assistants to take him to the hospital.

Upstairs, in Yvette's room, Sienna entered to find Yvette alone. She plopped onto the sofa, tossing her bag aside. "Boss, why didn't you tell me you needed a makeup artist? Linda's been bored out of her mind. I could have brought her. At least she wouldn't be stuck playing snarky beauty judge. I just ran into that fool you kicked downstairs—I'd have given him a good beating. Someone like that thinks they're good enough to touch your face!"

Before Sienna finished, a loud "bang" echoed—something had fallen.

Yvette's gaze moved past Sienna; her pale fingers tightened around her coffee cup, her eyebrows raised slightly.

Sienna turned to see a girl holding a makeup bag, standing awkwardly. A smashed bottle of foundation lay on the floor.

After a pause, Sienna looked back at Yvette, who was sipping her drink. "Should we kill her to keep her quiet?" she asked.

The intern immediately collapsed.
