Listen to this chapter:

Dee stared at Yvette, disbelief and fear etched on his face. He thought, How does she know about Eban's death? Only the Tiger Head Gang's inner circle knows. Burley was furious since Eban's demise, and they planned to send Yvette to him to improve his mood.

"How do you know about Eban's death?" Dee asked.

Yvette didn't lower her voice. The crowd gasped, thinking she was delusional, but Dee's confirmation silenced them. Whispers rippled through the onlookers.

"Did you hear? Eban's dead! This could end the Tiger Head Gang!" one exclaimed.

Others, unaware, dismissed it. "Is it really that bad? Burley runs the gang; Eban's death shouldn't matter much."

Another man shook his head. "You don't understand. Eban led the Tiger Head Gang. His ruthlessness was its success."

A bartender muttered, "But how does this girl know? Even the underworld didn't know."

Silence fell. They all thought, The bartender's right. How did she know? Doubt filled the room.

Yvette narrowed her eyes, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Because I killed him," she said calmly.

Stunned silence followed. Is she crazy? How dare she claim she killed Eban? Whispers filled the bar; even the DJ stopped. The lively atmosphere vanished, replaced by an unnerving quiet.

A bald man with business ties to Eban laughed mockingly. "You like to brag, don't you? Pretty, but crazy? Claiming you killed Eban? Why not say you know the President of Mysonna?"

Yvette glanced at him, expressionless. "I do know him."

This solidified the crowd's belief in her instability. Sandor and Dee laughed, their earlier panic fading. She's crazy. We overreacted. Gossip.

The crowd resumed taunting her.

"Pretty girl, get treatment! Don't embarrass yourself!"

"Yeah, you know the President, and I claim he's my dad too!"

"He's my father, too!"

Sympathetic onlookers warned, "Leave now. If the Tiger Head Gang arrives, you won't escape."

Yvette stared at her old black cell phone until it rang. She answered, listening to the Eagle King. "Boss, Charles, the Blaze Hall leader, is locked up by Braydon. We need time to confirm his location."

Yvette hung up, her expression unreadable yet warning. A devilish smirk crossed her face.

Sandor and Dee moved to seize her. Dee lunged, eyes glinting. Instantly, Yvette kicked him, the sound of breaking bones echoing. Sandor pulled a knife, attacking with deadly intent. Yvette sidestepped, grabbed his wrist, twisting it with a sickening snap. A swift kick sent him flying.

The onlookers watched, awestruck. Dee tried a sneak attack, swinging a stick. Yvette, without looking, snatched it. Dee stumbled back, terrified, begging for mercy.

"Want me to let you go?" Yvette asked slowly.

Sandor knelt, weeping. "Please, spare us."

The crowd wondered if she'd show mercy. Sandor, however, planned to call for backup.

Yvette looked at the barely conscious Sandor. Her voice was low and intense. "If you want to be spared, call your boss."

Sandor froze. Is she insane? Does she think she can escape once my boss arrives?

The onlookers were stunned. Is she insane, or does she want to die?

Even if she defeats these two, what about the thousands in the Tiger Head Gang and the Goodman family? Challenging them in Mysonna won't be easy.

Fearing deception, Sandor asked, "Are you sure?"

Yvette laughed lightly. "Go ahead. Need help finding a phone?"

Her friendliness was unnerving. Sandor hesitated, fearing a change of heart. He reached for his phone.

"Hold on," Yvette interrupted.

He realized she was toying with him. He suppressed his anger; it would hasten his demise.

Everyone thought Yvette had changed her mind. Sandor asked hesitantly, "You're not backing out?"

Yvette, hands in her pockets, smiled coldly. "Get me that chair."

The crowd watched in silence. Sandor, wincing in pain, dragged the body and fetched the chair. Onlookers realized this was her punishment. Even Sandor felt resentment.

If Eagle King were here, he'd say, "You're overthinking it. She's just lazy."
