The moment Victor heard that familiar voice, a chill ran down his spine. He feared his older sister, Rebecca, even more than his grandfather. Since childhood, Rebecca had always dominated him. While he was engrossed in video games, she was collecting awards. His grades were abysmal; hers were always top-tier. By her freshman year of college, she was already interning at the family business as her grandfather's assistant.

Winona, however, also reacted sharply to Rebecca's voice. No matter how hard Winona tried to impress her, Rebecca looked down on her, constantly reminding her that her engagement to Victor was solely due to her connection to Yvette's late mother. Winona endured Rebecca's mistreatment, feeling powerless to fight back. She desperately wanted to marry into the Carter family, and Rebecca held significant sway. Therefore, Winona had to maintain appearances, despite the sting.

Rebecca strode in, flanked by four sharply dressed bodyguards. Her high heels clicked loudly on the floor. "Rebecca, what are you doing here?" Victor asked. The moment he saw her face, he knew she was furious.

Rebecca marched straight to Yvette. The men surrounding Yvette quickly stepped aside, understanding that confronting Rebecca was unwise. "Are you Yvette?" Rebecca asked sharply.

Yvette calmly nodded, her expression unfazed by Rebecca's fierce energy. Rebecca felt a pang of surprise; Yvette was more composed than she anticipated. "Victor, get over here," Rebecca commanded.

Victor's face darkened. Rebecca showed no concern for his feelings, but disobeying her was impossible. He walked obediently towards her. As he passed Winona, she instinctively grabbed his arm. "Winona, you…" Victor hesitated; he didn't want to confront Rebecca either.

"In front of everyone, Ms. Chambers, perhaps we should stop this," Rebecca said sharply. "It's not a good look."

Winona's eyes reddened, defiance creeping into her voice. "Rebecca, I'm already engaged to Victor. I…"

Rebecca scoffed. "Engaged? You haven't even had your engagement party. Our families haven't exchanged gifts. It's too early. Besides, my family agreed to the marriage with Yvette, not you."

Victor felt Rebecca crossing a line. Seeing Winona in tears, he intervened. "Rebecca, I'm not marrying Yvette. I only want to marry Winona."

Victor's declaration didn't lift Winona's spirits. The strange looks from the crowd embarrassed her deeply. With despair in her eyes, she fled.

Victor intended to chase her, but Rebecca's bodyguards blocked his path. A sharp look from Rebecca stopped him. He reasoned that Winona would understand if he cooled things down later, and it was better to avoid his sister's wrath.

Once Victor calmed down, Rebecca turned to Yvette, her tone pointed. "Ms. Zeller, let's be reasonable. I don't know where you found that hacker, but this is serious, and our families have always had a good relationship. It's not worth making enemies over an outsider."

She glanced at John and continued, "Regarding John's injuries, the Carter family will take full responsibility. We'll cover his college expenses for four years. As for those who attacked you, feel free to deal with them."

Rebecca's words were smooth, but a hidden threat lingered. Yvette remained calm, an air of arrogance on her face. "Apologize," she demanded.

Rebecca's frustration simmered. Reluctantly, she gestured for security to bring Victor over. "Go apologize to Ms. Zeller."

Victor stared at Rebecca, disbelief etched on his face. Rebecca shot him a look, her eyes blazing. "Apologize, or I'll freeze all your accounts and take away your sports car."

Victor felt overwhelmed. The Chambers family was no match for the Carters. Why should he apologize to Yvette? But Rebecca was serious. Reluctantly, he muttered, "I'm sorry."

"Not to me. To him," Yvette said, indicating John.

Rage boiled inside Victor. John looked stunned. The crowd was silent. Rebecca's expression shifted; she felt Yvette was pushing it too far. An apology to John, a nobody, was outrageous.

Victor straightened, convinced Rebecca wouldn't force him. The tension mounted. Yvette and Rebecca locked gazes – one calm, the other fierce.

Rebecca remained silent until a bodyguard handed her a phone. After a brief conversation, her face darkened, her gaze steely. Yvette remained unfazed, even smiling.

After hanging up, Rebecca sighed. "Go apologize to this guy, Victor."

Victor couldn't believe his ears. "Have you lost your mind? I'm not doing it!"

Rebecca, without hesitation, slapped him. The sting sent Victor reeling. He was forced to apologize to John.

Rebecca felt sympathy for her brother, but she couldn't intervene. Victor, his cheek throbbing, mumbled, "I'm sorry," before storming out.

John stood stunned. He pinched himself; it was real. Victor's apology was incredibly significant.

"Ms. Zeller, are you happy now? Can you tell your friends to back off?" Rebecca asked coldly.

Yvette didn't answer. Rebecca stepped forward, but her bodyguard signaled, "It's over."

Rebecca realized too late who Yvette was. "Tell Mr. Zachary Chambers, we won't forget this. We'll be back," she said.

Yvette remained unmoved, even yawning. Rebecca stormed off. The crowd had witnessed an extraordinary event. Argrol University's campus forum buzzed, not with gossip about Yvette, but about school violence and bullying. Many hoped this incident would lead to lasting peace.

The crowd dispersed, leaving only Yvette and John.
