Five minutes later, Yvette came downstairs, still dressed in a simple black tracksuit. Aurora sat on the sofa, smiling broadly as Andrew kept her entertained. Charles sat silently, lost in thought, observing the scene. He envied Andrew's sunny disposition. He mused that those born into the underworld kept a safe distance, always wary of friends and enemies. One moment a friend, the next, a backstabber.
When Aurora saw Yvette, her smile widened. But seeing the black tracksuit, she sighed softly. Aren't young girls supposed to love dressing up? she thought. My future daughter-in-law always favors black, white, or gray. Too simple! Such a perfect face, a goddess-like body, divine beautyโwasted on plain clothes.
Andrew noticed Aurora's sigh. Confused, he asked, "Mrs. Chavez, what's wrong? Why the sigh? Did I say something wrong?"
Aurora waved a hand. "It's not you. Look at Yvette."
Andrew looked at Yvette, scratching his head. "Mrs. Chavez, what's wrong with Yvette? I don't see anything."
Aurora sipped her coffee. "Don't you think she dresses too plainly?"
Andrew nodded seriously. Compared to other girls, he thought, Yvette dresses simply. They change outfits daily, high-end brands, limited editions, luxury collections. Regardless of figure, their style is always on trend. He added, "When we first met Yvette, she wore a tracksuit. She usually wears tracksuits, T-shirts, and jeans. But it doesn't matter what she wears. With that face and aura, even a sack would look stunning."
Aurora nodded, patting Andrew's shoulder. "Exactly! Yvette is a perfect piece of art, crafted by the heavens."
Andrew nodded enthusiastically. "Mrs. Chavez, we share the same taste."
Charles lifted his head, glancing at the pair. He wanted to comment on their flattery but remained silent. No mother-in-law/daughter-in-law issues here, he thought. The age-old problem doesn't exist for the instructor.
Yvette approached the sofa, nodding slightly at Aurora. "Hello, Mrs. Chavez."
Aurora patted the seat beside her. "Come, sit. Have you enjoyed Skyland these past few days? Clifford's been busy with the Ybaulla visit, so you must be bored. Want to go shopping later?"
Yvette sat, her head slightly lowered. Her jade-like skin looked pale, her bangs fluttering down, her nose sharp and straight, her dark eyes shimmering faintly. She curled her lips slightly. "Shopping for clothes?"
Aurora, momentarily stunned by Yvette's beauty, replied, "Yes. There's a Ybaulla gala in ten days, and I'll be attending with Clifford. I want to check out haute couture gowns."
Shopping was a challenge for Yvette. She didn't enjoy it and lacked the time growing up. Does haute couture require a store visit? Her gaze flickered to Aurora's expectant face. "Which haute couture brand do you prefer?"
Aurora considered. "I don't have a fixed brand, but recently, I've favored 'Vibe's' haute couture line. Their owner is unique; they don't sell the same dress twice. I bought one three years ago, so I can't purchase another."
The regret in Aurora's voice was clear. Andrew, having heard about the brand from Samantha, understood. Women's money is easy to make, he thought. A simple haute couture piece from Samantha could cost millions, and it's only worn once. Charles also knew of Mysonna's "Vibe."
Yvette nodded, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. She swiftly accessed her phone, tapped a few times, and put it away. "Let's pick at home. The people will be here in half an hour."
Aurora was puzzled. "Who? Who's coming?"
Yvette's deep, cold eyes met Aurora's. "The people from 'Vibe.' Don't you like their haute couture?"
Aurora was dumbfounded. Did I hear correctly? 'Vibe' is coming to my house? A fairy tale! 'Vibe' had unwritten rules: no repeat sales, no at-home service. Even high-ranking officials were treated the same. Years ago, a real estate tycoon's wife demanded at-home service and was blacklisted; her company eventually went bankrupt. No one dared ask for home service. So, Yvette arranged for 'Vibe' to come to the house?
Fearing she'd misheard, Aurora turned to Andrew. "Andrew, did Yvette say 'Vibe' is coming here personally?"
Andrew, unaware of Aurora's reaction, replied, "Yes, Mrs. Chavez. What's the matter?"
Charles lowered his newspaper. He understood Aurora's shock. If anyone else said this, I wouldn't believe it. But Ms. Zeller... how well-connected is she to make 'Vibe' break their rules? He explained to Andrew, "'Vibe' has an unwritten rule: no at-home service. No one has broken that rule. Not even the First Lady of Mysonna. If this happens, Mrs. Chavez will be the first."
Andrew finally understood Aurora's astonishment. He glanced at the expressionless Yvette, his eyes twitching. What kind of powerhouse is Yvette? He felt like kneeling.
Yvette lounged lazily, her posture relaxed. Seeing Aurora's confusion, she said softly, "You like it, and I'm giving it to you. Aren't you happy?"
