Listen to this chapter:

It was Wednesday, only three days until the friendly match between Clusia and Ybaulla. The upcoming match dominated conversations everywhere.

In a cafรฉ, Lucy, in a business suit, stirred her coffee, observing Yvette with a curious expression. She understood Yvette's unusual intervention in Aurora's fight; there was a reason, she realized. After a moment's thought, Lucy asked, "Boss, are you in love?"

Yvette looked up, placing her hands on the desk. Her lips pressed together, her expression unreadable. "Mmm," she replied.

Lucy was stunned. She never imagined this legendary figure would fall in love. Remembering recent rumors, she cautiously asked, "Boss, is your boyfriend Jeremiah Chavez, the young general?"

"It's him," Yvette replied, glancing at her.

Lucy gasped, clutching her chest. This was exhilarating! Initially, she'd dismissed the rumors as coincidental, but Jeremiah's reported infatuation with a woman had revealed the truth. Yvette is awesome! she thought. Her boyfriend is the youngest general in Clusia, the Living Reaper. How amazing!

Lucy sipped her coffee to compose herself. "Boss," she said, "high society in Betrico whispers Jeremiah Chavez is smitten with a woman from Seacrityโ€”just a pretty face, they say. Stop hiding your identity! Revealing you're the chairman of FastPulse Technologies will silence them."

If Yvette revealed herself, the privileged wouldn't look down on her; she was a self-made billionaire.

Yvette rested her chin on her hand, a sneer playing on her lips. "Just a pretty face?" she mused. "Interesting." "No need," she added coldly.

Lucy sighed, feeling helpless working for a low-profile boss who disliked trouble. "Alright, Boss," she conceded, wondering if she hadn't expanded FastPulse Technologies sufficiently. She needed to maintain her strong performance.

At that moment, a woman at a nearby table splashed water on a man's face, tears streaming down her cheeks. The cafรฉ's attention shifted. Lucy watched as the woman, delicately made-up and in a dark blue dress, cried out, "Mr. Jenkins, I truly love you! Why did you toy with my feelings? I'll be a good wife and mother! Please believe me!" The man was Robin Jenkins, a prominent online figure representing Ybaulla in the upcoming match. Ybaulla had already introduced Robin and Kaiden that morning.

His presence was impossible to miss. He was immediately recognized, photographed, and videotaped; the footage quickly went viral under various attention-grabbing titles. Live streams began, drawing thousands of viewers.

[Holy shit! Whatโ€™s going on? Is Robinโ€™s girlfriend from Clusia? Is he dumping her?] [Iโ€™m totally confused. Whatโ€™s happening right now? Who can tell me what happened?] [Looks like Robin is breaking up with this woman and sheโ€™s trying to hold on to him. Am I right?] [Oh, no. Donโ€™t tell me sheโ€™s a simp?]

Whispers rippled through the cafรฉ. Robin, unfazed, laughed. He'd merely toyed with the Clusian woman, but she'd taken it seriously, even wanting to follow him home. In her dreams! he thought. Such an idiot! A few sweet words, and she was easily lured into bed. So cheap!

He wiped the water from his face. "We were just messing around," he stated coldly. "You came onto me. I'll never marry a Clusian woman." He then deliberately glanced around the cafรฉ, his arrogance palpable.

This deliberate humiliation of the Clusians ignited anger both in the cafรฉ and online.

[Donโ€™t you guys see Robin is deliberately humiliating us? Can you endure it?] [What the hell are the people in the cafรฉ doing? Stand up and slap him!] [Shit! Does he have a death wish? Letโ€™s start a crowdfunding campaign to kill him!] [This woman is a simp! Sheโ€™s a disgrace to our Clusians.]

A man in a suit rose. "Mr. Jenkins," he said calmly, "not all Clusians are like her. This is between you two; don't humiliate others. As we say in Clusia, we entertain guests with wine, but deal with bad people with shotguns. I'm sure you understand."

The cafรฉ erupted in applause.

The crying woman, mortified, shrank in her seat.

Robin narrowed his eyes at the man. "Did I say something wrong? She slept with me the first time we met. I naturally assumed all women here were the same. I apologize if I offended you," he said, his arrogance unconcealed.

The man was speechless, choked with anger. Robin scoffed inwardly. What a bunch of idiots! How dare they argue with me!

The livestreamer's hand trembled; he wasn't enjoying the spectacle anymore. He glanced at the commentsโ€”over a hundred thousand already. More news flooded in.
