Listen to this chapter:

After Sharon and her group left, the physics students grew anxious. They couldn't understand why Yvette would accept Sharon's unreasonable challenge; it seemed like self-inflicted humiliation. Ever since Winona spread the news the previous day, students at Argrol University knew that Yvette was the Chambers family's adopted daughter from the countryside. Although she had forced Victor to apologize, this didn't mean she could speak Frixyia. Given the level of education in the countryside, learning the language was impossible. This was a gamble she was bound to lose.

Bonnie followed Yvette, lost in thought. Making up her mind, Bonnie firmly said, "Ms. Gorgeous, let me take your place! I know a little Frixyia, and even if I can't win, I can at least argue with her."

Yvette smiled slightly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "No need. I know a little Frixyia, too."

Hearing this, Bonnie nodded. "Oh, you know a little Frixyia? Wait a minute, Ms. Gorgeous. What did you just say? You can speak Frixyia?"

With one hand in her pocket, Yvette gently flicked Bonnie's forehead. "Yes."

Bonnie's worries vanished. She blindly trusted Yvette; if Yvette said she knew Frixyia, Bonnie believed her. "Oh, then Ms. Gorgeous, do you need to review? Do you need any books? I can go find some for you," Bonnie asked.

Yvette shook her head, her voice slightly hoarse. "No, and please don't call me Ms. Gorgeous."

Bonnie obediently nodded and thought for a moment. "How about I call you Yve?"

Realizing that Bonnie would otherwise continue calling her Ms. Gorgeous, Yvette nodded. Bonnie smiled, happy that Yvette accepted the nickname.

In less than half a day, news of the Frixyia speech contest between Yvette and Sharon spread throughout Argrol University. The contest would take place in the auditorium three days later.

As Winona and Victor passed the campus bulletin board, they saw a poster: "[Sharon from the Frixyia department challenged Yvette, a freshman from the Physics department. Who will win? The results will be known in three days.]"

Winona gloated. "Victor, I don't understand what Yvette is thinking. Why compete with Sharon in Frixyia? Sharon's one of the top students in the Frixyia department; she even won second place in last year's citywide competition. Yvette's going to be humiliated. I'm worried about her."

Victor, eager to see Yvette embarrassed, snorted. "She just came from the countryside. She dares to accept any challenge, courting disaster."

Winona smiled gently. "Let's watch. If Yvette loses, I can comfort her."

Victor, admiring Winona's kindness, said in a doting tone, "If you want to go, I'll go with you."

After they left, Jeremiah and Andrew passed by the bulletin board. Jeremiah, dressed in black, walked with long strides, his expression aloof. Andrew, however, was all smiles. "Jeremiah, how do you know that girl from today? She looks so familiar," Andrew asked.

Jeremiah ignored him. Andrew pressed on. Jeremiah glanced at him and narrowed his eyes. "Is my gossip worth one million dollars?"

Andrew fell silent, remembering Jeremiah was in their group chat but never participated. He thought, I really shouldn't do things against my conscience, but said smilingly, "Jeremiah, I just wanted to share the news. Everyone's concerned about you."

"Take that one million dollars and donate it," Jeremiah said.

Andrew, reluctant, agreed. "Alright, I'll do as you say, Jeremiah."

The Chambers family was having dinner. Zachary asked about Yvette, annoying Winona. She casually mentioned the upcoming competition.

"Yvette's taking part in a Frixyia competition?" Zachary asked.

Winona nodded innocently. "Yes, and the whole campus knows. In three days, many will be watching!"

Zachary was upset. He couldn't understand why Yvette would compete with a top student.

Ignoring Zachary's pale expression, Winona continued, "Dad, why don't you and Mom come and cheer for Yvette?"

Zachary threw down his fork. "No way. It's bad enough she's embarrassing herself; we can't join her. No one is going. Understand?"

Winona, wanting to see Yvette humiliated, pretended to be conflicted. "Dad, Victor's going. We planned this. Yvette already upset the Carter family, and if I back out..."

Zachary's tone softened. "Alright, you can go. Just don't upset Victor."

Winona nodded happily. Zachary added, "If Yvette needs help, assist her." Winona gripped her fork tightly. "Don't worry, Dad. I will."

Nellie was in a good mood. Zachary was spending more time at home, and her private investigator reported he'd reduced visits to his secretary. She focused on winning back Zachary's heart and wasn't concerned about Yvette.

"Honey, let's eat. Yvette's old enough. Winona's sensible and will help her," Nellie said.

Zachary lost his appetite and went upstairs. Nellie followed, leaving Winona alone.

After sending the servants away, Winona called Sharon.

"Hello, Sharon, are you busy?" Winona asked.

Sharon, recognizing the call, quickly returned to her room. "Not busy, Winona, what's up?"

Winona spoke sweetly, "Sharon, do you really need to compete with Yvette? Maybe let it go. Even if Yvette bullied me, I don't want her embarrassed. I can forgive her."

Sharon disagreed.

"Winona, why forgive her? You're too soft. She's a country girl. How dare she bully you? The competition can't be canceled. But you gave me an idea. This time, I'll make sure she apologizes to you in front of everyone. I'll get someone to spread the word on the campus forum. I've got to go. Just wait for Yvette to apologize to you in three days." Sharon hung up.

"Hello, Sharon? Hello?" Winona hung up, a wicked smile spreading across her face as she stood by the living room window.
