The next day, Jared carefully carried the breakfast and stood at the door of Skyland. "This is a breakfast worth a million dollars," he muttered, nervously adjusting his suit and hair before pressing the doorbell.

Andrew, his hair tousled, came downstairs. "Who's here so early?" He, his sister Yvette, and Charles had been playing cards until midnight, followed by a late-night snack.

Opening the door, Jared offered his signature smile. "Hello, Yโ€”" His smile vanished upon seeing Andrew, his tone turning gloomy. "Ah, it's you. Where are Jeremiah and Yvette?"

Andrew leaned casually against the door, his blue slippers flashing. "Hey, Jared, are you that disappointed to see me?"

Jared nodded. "Not just disappointed, very disappointed."

Before they could continue, Charles came downstairs, ignored them, and sat at the dining table.

After entering with the breakfast, Jared remained reserved. This was Jeremiah's home, and aside from Andrew, he was unfamiliar with the others.

Andrew, noticing Jared's discomfort, patted his shoulder. "Bro, come sit. Jeremiah and Yvette will be down soon; they were both exhausted last night."

Jared almost choked on his drink. What is Andrew talking about? What does it mean they were too tired last night? Can I even hear this?

Charles calmly ate his bread, oblivious to the others, seemingly assuming Jared was as unintelligent as Andrew.

Yvette and Jeremiah descended the stairs. Jared immediately rose, hands clasped in a formal greeting. His nervousness led to a disastrous blunder. "Jeremiah, Yvette, Merry Christmas!" He inwardly cringed. So embarrassing! In front of Jeremiah and Yvette! I wish I could just disappear!

Yvette sat, observing the sweating, nervous Jared. Am I that scary? What is he so nervous about? she wondered. "Have a seat," she said.

Jared, scratching his head, sat and shyly presented the oatmeal with savory toppings and shrimp ravioli he'd bought. He'd watched her livestream yesterday and had become a fan. "Sister-in-law, I specially bought this for you."

Jeremiah already knew about Andrew's million-dollar scam. He glanced at Andrew, who was enjoying his oatmeal, and said in a hoarse voice, "Give the million dollars back to Jared."

Andrew's appetite vanished. Not only did my million not arrive, but I have to repay it! I'm losing big! He could only nod tearfully. "Understood, Jeremiah."

Jared was surprised by this swift resolution.

Jeremiah said to Jared, "Have some more before you leave."

Jared was astonished by Jeremiah's unexpected gentleness.

At the table, Jeremiah spread strawberry jam on Yvette's bread and poured her a cup of hot milk. Charles and Andrew were indifferent; this was commonplace. Jared, however, watched in amazement. Oh my godโ€ฆ I'm actually witnessing this side of Jeremiah!

Andrew nudged the dazed Jared. "Eat, what are you staring at?"

"Ohโ€ฆ Oh, I'm eating now," Jared stammered.

After the meal, they returned to the living room. Yvette lounged lazily on the sofa, fiddling with her phone. Jeremiah took a phone call outside. Andrew turned on the TV, landing on a news channel.

"According to reliable information, a man from Ybaulla jumped from a rooftop, dying a gruesome death. His body was severely mutilated. Betrico Police Station is verifying the identity of the deceased, initially suspecting it to be Robin, who participated in yesterday's chess competition. We will continue to follow this story."

Andrew dropped the remote, turning to Yvette, who remained engrossed in her phone. "Yvette, Robin is dead!"

Charles also looked at Yvette, his expression thoughtful. Robin died last night, and the instructor returned late. A coincidenceโ€ฆ if the instructor killed Robin, it must be due to something Robin did.

Yvette, without looking up, replied indifferently, "Hmm."

Andrew swallowed, remembering Yvette's late return. The dark night is perfect for murder! Who else but Yvette could have done it?

Jared was bewildered. Why are they all looking at Yvette? What does she have to do with it?

Jeremiah entered, saw the news, observed everyone's reactions, and sat down.

Andrew repeated, "Jeremiah, Robin is dead."

Jeremiah already knew; the call had been from the military district. While the death was ruled a fall, Ybaulla suspected foul play, pending autopsy results.

Jeremiah put his arm around Yvette's waist, squeezing gently. His voice was deep. "Can it be found out?"

Yvette looked up, her eyes clear, raising an eyebrow. "No, no one can find out."

Jeremiah smiled. "This young lady's tactics are truly unpredictable! The swordsmanship competition is at four; are you going?"

Yvette shook her head. "Not going. A competition without suspense is not worth watching."

Jeremiah squeezed her fingers, then whispered, "Alright, I'll handle it quickly, and make osso buco for you when I get back."

Yvette nodded. "Okay, I'll wait."

The others watched, silently observing their affection. Are they showing off? What if it's found out Yvette killed Robin?

In room 403 of the Ybaulla delegation's hotel, Kaiden watched the news with a grim expression.
