Bonnie was sweating nervously, her face pale as she clutched her cup. Yvette raised an eyebrow, calmly holding her own. โNo need to be nervous,โ she said lightly.
Bonnieโs heart skipped a beat. How could I possibly not be nervous at a time like this? If Sheldon finds out Yvetteโs here, itโll be a disaster! Sheโd forgotten Yvette had arrived in Dungo Village with Sheldon.
Outside, Sheldonโs face darkened as he heard a voice from within. He yelled, โBonnie, is someone in your room? Open up right now, or Iโll break down the door!โ
He bellowed again. โOpen up! Whoโs in there with you? Hurry up! If you donโt open the door, Iโm calling for backup.โ
The door swung open, revealing Yvette. Sheldonโs hand froze mid-air. โYouโฆโ he stammered, โHowโฆwhat are you doing here?โ His eyes filled with terrifying suspicion. Why is Yvette in Bonnieโs room? Why did she follow me to Dungo Village? He doubted Yvetteโs intentions.
Yvette stepped forward, one hand in her pocket, her expression lazy and unconcerned. โI got lost,โ she drawled, glancing at Bonnie. โSaw her banging on the door and came in to check it out.โ
Sheldon laughed coldly. โMs. Zeller, cut the nonsense. This room is guarded. Thereโs no way you could have even come close, let alone entered. Who are you, really? Whatโs your purpose in Dungo Village?โ
Yvette looked at him lazily, her features cold and indifferent. โNo one was here, and the door wasnโt locked.โ
Sheldonโs disbelief was evident as he turned to Bonnie, who stood frozen. โDo you know her?โ he demanded.
Though her heart raced, Bonnie reacted quickly. She shook her head. โNo, I donโt know her. She barged in, and I was about to throw her out when you knocked. Who is she? Is she another girl you tricked into coming here?โ
Seeing Bonnieโs anger and unwavering gaze, Sheldon began to believe them. But doubt lingered, and he glanced uneasily at Yvette.
To mask his insecurity, he snapped, โBonnie, what nonsense are you talking about? Tricked? Donโt be ridiculous and stop accusing me!โ
Bonnie glanced at Yvette and felt a surge of courage. With Yvette here, Iโm not scared at all, she thought, putting her hands on her hips and shouting back, her voice twice as loud as his. Sheโd never lost a shouting match.
โSheldon, am I wrong? Youโre banging on the door like a mad dog, and now youโre saying this to her! I told you I donโt know her, and you donโt believe me? Then why are you even asking? Just take this woman and leave. I donโt want to see either of you! Stay if you want, but donโt cry when Holden finds out and scolds you!โ
Sheldon was stunned. Heโd never seen Bonnie act like this. Bonnie is so naive. All sheโs ever done is study. Thereโs no way sheโs this good at acting, he thought.
He glanced at Yvette, who remained calm and composed. His suspicions mostly faded, but one question remained: Where was the guard at the door? How did Yvette even get inside?
A man in distinctive clothing rushed over. โMr. Jacobs, what are you doing here?โ
Sheldon froze, noticing the manโs unfastened trousers. He slapped him. โWhere were you? Didnโt lock the door? You didnโt even know someone came in?โ
The guardโs face turned red with panic. โMr. Jacobs, Iโm so sorry! I had an upset stomach and went to the restroom. Iโm so sorry. It wonโt happen again!โ
A foul smell wafted from the guard, and Sheldon grimaced, stepping back in disgust. He waved dismissively. โGet away from me, now.โ
The guard, resentful, hurried off, clutching his stomach. Itโs not like I wanted to have stomach problems! What else could I do? And now Iโm getting slapped out of nowhere. This is so unfair, he thought.
Once the smell dissipated, Sheldonโs doubts vanished. Heโd misunderstood Yvette. Perhaps sheโd genuinely entered Bonnieโs room out of curiosity.
Itโs all Bonnieโs fault, stirring up this nonsense and creating such a huge misunderstanding. Now I have to figure out how to explain this to Yvette, Sheldon thought.
Smiling sheepishly, he turned to Yvette. โMs. Zeller, I sincerely apologize. This entire situation was my mistake. Iโm very sorry.โ
Yvette remained calm and unruffled, while Bonnieโs hands were clammy. Bonnie thought Yvette was amazing; her nerves were unbelievably strong. Bonnie was convinced Yvette had something to do with the guardโs sudden illness.
Yvette raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on her lips. Her voice was chillingly detached. โSince Dungo Village isnโt exactly welcoming to outsiders, Iโll be on my way, then.โ
Sheldon panicked. Yvette is a rare beauty. I canโt just let her leave! He considered his options. Noticing Yvetteโs apparent interest in Bonnie, he ventured, โMs. Zeller, it seems youโve taken a liking to Bonnie.โ
Yvette glanced at Bonnie indifferently. โSheโs alright. Cute enough, and chatting with her isnโt too bad.โ
Bonnieโs heart leaped. Oh my god, Yvette just called me cuteโฆ Iโm thrilled!
Knowing Bonnieโs timid nature, Sheldon decided to keep her near Bonnie. Tomorrow, once I control Yvette with poisonous insects, sheโll be mine to toy with however I please, he thought smugly. Itโs only a day. Two women couldn't possibly stir up trouble, right?
He said, โMs. Zeller, a guest is always welcome in Dungo Village. Since you enjoy chatting with Bonnie, feel free to come by anytime. Sheโs the one getting married in three days.โ
Yvette nodded slightly. โOh? So, itโs her.โ
Sheldon chuckled, noticing her surprise. โYes, thatโs her, Ms. Zeller.โ
Bonnie thought, Wow, Yvetteโs acting skills are incredible! Sheldon is always paranoid, yet Yvette only said a few words, and heโs already agreeing to let her come see me? Sheโs remarkable.
Clearing her throat, Bonnie adopted a haughty expression. โDonโt bring this woman round to see me. I have no interest in chatting.โ
Sheldon snorted. โIt doesnโt matter what you want. Ms. Zeller is my honored guest, and youโd better show respect.โ
Bonnie pretended to be annoyed, turning away.
Sheldon said warmly to Yvette, โMs. Zeller, letโs go. Bonnieโs throwing a tantrum again. Letโs leave her to her antics.โ
Yvette nodded. โOkay.โ
Once they left, Bonnie turned around, cold sweat streaming down her face. If Sheldon had stayed longer, she wouldn't have been able to maintain the act.
