Listen to this chapter:

Bonnie glanced at Yvette, feeling sorry for Ben. She thought, Why did he mention the Chambers family? If Mr. Chambers really knew this guy, he might infuriate Yvette!

Yvette raised an eyebrow, tilting her head as her intense gaze settled on Ben and Janice. A sly smile crept onto her face. “You’re saying you know Zachary Chambers, and he has your back?”

Ben was momentarily stunned, but quickly regained his composure and nodded, attempting to look confident. “Well, you seem to have some sense, knowing Seacrity’s top family and Mr. Chambers. Yes, that’s him. We’re close. If I call him, he’ll definitely send someone to teach you a lesson. So, apologize and hang out with me for a few days, and maybe I’ll let you go.”

Ben’s eyes lingered on Yvette, clearly more captivated by her than his threat. Janice was attractive, but compared to Yvette, she was insignificant. Given a choice, he’d pick Yvette.

Janice had no idea what Ben was thinking. She believed he was genuinely defending her. Although unfamiliar with “Mr. Chambers,” she sensed his power and wealth from Ben’s tone.

Feeling smug, Janice sneered at Yvette. “My man and Mr. Chambers are as close as family. Offending us means offending him. If you don’t listen, we’ll kick you out of Seacrity.”

Bonnie watched their theatrics, feeling disgusted. Do they have any clue about the relationship between the almighty Zachary and Yvette? And they’re boasting like fools. What a joke. Watching Janice’s arrogance, Bonnie knew their sisterhood was over.

Unfazed, Yvette sat calmly on the couch, her sharp gaze unwavering. She casually played with her phone, exuding fearless confidence, a picture of defiance. She looked every bit the boss.

Meeting their gaze, a hint of malice in her eyes, Yvette smiled casually. “Since you know Zachary, I’ll give you a chance. Call him. The head of Seacrity’s first family must be impressive, right?”

Ben froze. Is she crazy? He had only shared a few meals with Zachary; their relationship was nothing special. He never expected anyone to believe the Chambers family would intervene. He’d used it to intimidate Yvette, but now he was unsure how to respond.

After a long pause, Ben stammered, but no words came out. Even Janice noticed something was amiss.

She pulled Ben aside, whispering urgently, “What’s wrong? Yvette’s challenging you. Call Mr. Chambers, or we’ll be the laughingstock! Please, call him now!”

Ben couldn't tell her the truth without humiliating himself; he couldn't actually contact Zachary. As he struggled, Yvette’s phone rang.

A sigh of relief escaped Ben as their eyes fixed on Yvette’s phone. She said "Zachary" and answered, showing no surprise.

“Where are you, Yvette? Coming home for dinner?” Zachary’s warm voice filled the room.

Yvette glanced at Ben. With a slight lift of her eyebrows, she replied calmly, “I’m at Starlight Plaza.”

Zachary’s excited voice cut in. “Starlight Plaza? What a coincidence! I’m inspecting stores. Which floor? I’ll be up in a few minutes.” Starlight Plaza was part of the Chambers Group, and Zachary's unexpected visit to check on the business led to this encounter.

Yvette raised an eyebrow, her expression indifferent. “Fifth floor.”

“I’ll be there in fifteen minutes,” Zachary replied.

After ending the call, Bonnie cautiously asked, “Was that Mr. Chambers, Yvette?”

Yvette nodded slightly, pursing her lips. “Yes.”

Ben and Janice, who had overheard, immediately tensed. Janice’s smug expression shifted to incredulity as she laughed sarcastically. “Wait, Bonnie, you’re not talking about Zachary, head of the Chambers family? That’s impossible! Don’t think you and Yvette can get away with this. Yvette broke my boyfriend’s teeth, and we won’t let her go.”

Bonnie nodded seriously. “Yes, the head of the Chambers family, Mr. Zachary Chambers. He’s…”

Ben’s loud laughter cut her off. “You two have no idea who Zachary is! He’s a prominent figure in Seacrity, someone you can’t just casually call or meet. Don’t think you can fool me with a phone call. If you refuse to apologize, neither of you are leaving. Get down on your knees and apologize now!”

Janice agreed. “Exactly, Yvette’s surname is Zeller and Zachary’s is Chambers. Educate yourselves before you lie! This is ridiculous!”

Yvette slowly stood, glancing at her watch. Zachary would arrive in ten minutes – just enough time. She turned to Bonnie and whispered, “Close the door.”

Bonnie glanced at Janice and Ben, knowing the consequences of crossing Yvette. No one was exempt, not even her sister.

Bonnie locked the door remotely, leaving only the four of them inside.

Janice and Ben froze, confused. Why is she shutting the door?

Janice, panicked, shouted, “What are you doing, Yvette? Open the door!”

Ben, clutching his injured mouth, trembled. His legs still throbbed from Yvette’s kick.

Yvette raised an eyebrow, her expression sly and dangerous. Her gaze was sharp, her voice cold. “Why did we shut the door? To lock you in, of course. It’s time for you to face the consequences.”

Janice and Ben stiffened. Lock us in? Oh no, this is serious.

Janice hid behind Ben, her face filled with fear. “Don’t… come any closer!”

Ben pulled Janice from behind him.
