Wyatt entered after knocking, only to see Jeremiah handing Yvette a tissue. He was shocked. Jeremiah was known for his aloofness with women; in Betrico, many socialites admired him from afar. Wyatt had never heard of Jeremiah being involved with any young women, so he was curious about Yvette's background. Yvette was striking, but her casual demeanor suggested she wasn't from a prestigious family. Wyatt quickly dismissed his curiosity; it wasn't his place to inquire. Besides Andrew, everyone else seemed ordinary and quite young.

As Wyatt entered, Tobias stared at him in shock. Regaining his senses, he stood abruptly, banging his knee against the table and wincing. John and the others jumped, looking at him in confusion. Even Yvette glanced over.

"Mr. Langford!" Tobias exclaimed, astonished.

Wyatt, warm and friendly, seemed a world away from his earlier demeanor with Zachary and Rebecca. "Jeremiah, what a coincidence seeing you here."

Jeremiah, still looking at Yvette, replied casually, "Yes, I'm having dinner with friends."

Andrew grinned. "Mr. Langford, you're not following us, are you?"

Wyatt denied it anxiously, afraid of being mistaken for a stalker. "No, absolutely not. This restaurant is owned by my sister-in-law. My wife manages it; I was invited to dinner to avoid trouble. Running into Jeremiah and you was purely coincidental."

Andrew chuckled. "I was joking, Mr. Langford, you look so nervous."

Wyatt was unnerved; the joke wasn't amusing. Jeremiah, however, didn't suspect Wyatt had been following him. He trusted Wyatt wouldn't risk investigation and believed him incapable of such foolishness.

After greeting Jeremiah, Wyatt turned to Tobias, who had clearly recognized him. "Hello, I'm Wyatt Langford. May I know your name?"

Tobias was taken aback. Nervously, he replied, "Hello, Mr. Langford. I'm Tobias Sunderland, a physics professor at Argrol University. I met you once during a seminar with the university president."

Wyatt was surprised Jeremiah's company included a university professor. "Please, sit down. Don't let my presence disrupt your dinner. I just came to say hello and will be leaving soon." Wyatt showed tact, chatting with Jeremiah and Andrew while also paying attention to John and Bonnie. Learning they were Argrol University students, he encouraged them to study diligently.

Most of the conversation was dominated by Wyatt, with Jeremiah listening and Andrew interjecting humorously. Finally, Wyatt settled the bill and left after a few more words.

Throughout the encounter, Tobias, John, and Bonnie were visibly uneasy. Jeremiah and Andrew remained calm, and Yvette looked careless, glancing at Wyatt only upon learning his identity before resuming her phone game.

Bonnie was stunned by Wyatt's identity. She struggled to understand the conversation, grasping only that the amiable man was the Mayor of Seacrity. It was the most surreal day for her.

"Mr. Sunderland, was that really the Mayor? I can't believe I was chatting with him! He even encouraged me to study hard! I feel so lucky!" Bonnie exclaimed.

Andrew tapped Bonnie's head. "Get over it. He's just a mayor. What's there to be excited about?"

Bonnie, missing his tone, rubbed her head. "Hey, I'm just happy. Can't you see? The mayor said the future of this country depends on young talents like us! Hmph!" She looked at Yvette. "Right, Yve?"

Yvette put away her phone and nodded carelessly, pleasing Bonnie. Tobias and John, however, noticed Wyatt's deference and cautious flattery towards Jeremiah, and his more equal treatment of Andrew. They couldn't fathom how Jeremiah and Andrew, prominent figures, could be library staff at Argrol University.

Rebecca followed Wyatt and saw him enter a room across the hall. Curious, she wondered if there was someone important she hadn't heard of. Wyatt's secretary, Janet Miller, blocked Rebecca's path.

"Ms. Carter, you can't go any further. Mr. Langford is meeting a private acquaintance."

Rebecca, momentarily embarrassed, recovered quickly. "Oh, I'm sorry. I just wanted to use the restroom."

Janet smiled. "You might want to ask the waiter over there."

Rebecca left, but halfway down the corridor, she playfully said, "Ms. Miller, I hope Mr. Langford doesn't find out about my little detour."

"Don't worry," Janet assured her.

However, as soon as Wyatt came out, Janet informed him of Rebecca's visit. Wyatt, displeased, decided to warn Rebecca. Her attempt to gather information backfired, resulting in the Carter family receiving minimal profit from the upcoming business district project.

As Yvette exited the restroom, she encountered a slightly inebriated Zachary and Lucas, who was there to pick him up.

"Lilian, Lilian, is that you?" Zachary asked.

Yvette paused, her expression unreadable. Lucas was surprised. "Hello, Ms. Zeller. Mr. Chambers came here for business and drank too much, so I'm here to take him home," Lucas said.

Zachary, sobering slightly, felt guilt. He regretted sending Yvette to the dormitory.

"Yvette, are you dining here too?" Zachary asked.

Yvette adjusted her coat. "Yes."
