When Quinn entered the dining area, he immediately saw Yvette. Her presence was striking; nearly everyone's eyes were fixed on her table.
Quinn quickly approached, respectfully saying, "Ms. Zeller, why did you and your friends come down? Is there something wrong with the hotel's food? Please let us know if anything is unsatisfactory, and we will rectify it immediately."
The surrounding guests were shocked. As the only five-star hotel in Fhongsoly, Quinn's deference to a young woman was unexpected.
Yvette lifted her gaze, ignoring the curious stares. Addressing the anxious hotel manager, she said coolly, "Nothing is unsatisfactory."
Eagle King joked, "Quinn, why are you shaking? We're all very down-to-earth."
Quinn was speechless. He thought, Down-to-earth? They must have a skewed perception of themselves. Relieved by Yvette's apparent satisfaction, he instructed his staff to serve her group immediately.
Under the watchful eyes of the dining area's patrons, Yvette, Jeremiah, and their companions finished their breakfast unfazed.
As night fell, Fhongsoly's Cobalt Blue Bar, known locally as the "Paradise of Desire," began to fill. Money bought indulgence here.
The bar's dรฉcor resembled a 1980s Clusian discoโnot fashionable, but the best in Fhongsoly.
In a VIP booth, Yvette sat in black, a cap concealing her piercing eyes. Her slender fingers tapped the armrest. On the table sat a glass of orange juiceโJeremiah and the others insisted she avoid alcohol.
Observing the dancers, a smile played on her lips. Her cold eyes and relaxed posture conveyed rebellious nonchalance.
At the bar, a flamboyantly dressed woman, Lucille Poole, had been eyeing Yvette. Years of working at Cobalt Blue had never revealed such beauty.
If I could present this girl to my boss, I'd be richly rewarded, she thought.
Lucille approached Yvette's booth, placing a drink before her. In a high-pitched voice, she said, "Hey, are you alone? Something bothering you? You can talk to me."
Lucille tried to engage Yvette, unaware of the equally striking Jeremiah, Eagle King, Samantha, Charles, and Emmett nearby.
Jeremiah's warning aura intensified as Lucille approached. His eyes sharpened, sending a chill through the room. The glass in his hand shattered, scattering fragments on the floor.
Samantha gasped, Oh my god, Jeremiah is terrifying!
Emmett, Charles, and Eagle King quietly watched, knowing a jealous Jeremiah was best left unprovoked. They hoped Yvette wouldn't push him too far.
Yvette looked at Lucille, a slight smile on her stunningly cold face. Her long lashes drooped, masking her thoughts. She leaned back, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "Lucille?"
The single word made Lucille shiver.
"Hello, beauty," Lucille said, "This is Voraxia, very dangerous. Why don't we become friends?"
Yvette smiled softly. "Dangerous? I think I'm more dangerous."
Lucille chuckled, her eyes seductive. "Beauty, you know how to joke."
Yvette leaned back, her demeanor boss-like and mocking. "I never joke, especially with strangers."
Undeterred, Lucille moved closer, whispering, "It's not exciting here. How about somewhere more thrilling?"
Yvette's eyes finally showed reaction. Lucille, emboldened, asked, "You're not scared, are you?"
Yvette nodded. "Let's go."
Lucille's face lit up. "Beauty, I don't know your name."
"Yvette," she replied casually.
Lucille, already imagining the boss's favor, felt her hands tremble.
As they passed Jeremiah's table, Yvette paused. She glanced at Jeremiah and his tense companions, a slow smile forming on her face. "Pretty handsome."
The icy aura surrounding Jeremiah vanished. He stared at Yvette, his gaze intense. Lucille, noticing the group, wondered at the unusual gathering of attractive people. She saw Samantha and thought, If not for Yvette, the boss might have been interested in her.
Fearing trouble, Lucille urged Yvette to leave. "Come on, or the place will close soon."
Yvette and Lucille left. Samantha, Eagle King, Emmett, and Charles looked at Jeremiah. Eagle King stroked his chin, watching Yvette go. He wondered who would bear the brunt of Jeremiah's wrath this time.
