Listen to this chapter:

Inside the cage, a six-foot-two man slowly opened his eyes. His features were nearly perfect; a tight-fitting black outfit showcased his physique, his golden hair gleaming softly under the lights. His delicate face radiated a striking coolness, but his clear, bright eyes burned with intense rage. Faint blue light emanated from his earrings, and his deep-set eyes held a wild, untamed look.

As he attempted to move, he discovered his hands were shackled. Looking down at the awestruck crowd, disgust washed over him. Just as their admiration peaked, he shocked them. "What the hell? You pests, shut your eyes! If you dare to stare, I swear I'll gouge them out! Free me!"

The underground auction attendees were taken aback. No one expected such arrogance from a man who looked like Apollo.

Marina watched, her lips twitching in irritation. His bravado shattered the mysterious image she'd initially conceived. He was vastly different from his appearance suggested. Heโ€™d been drugged into unconsciousness and brought here. Gazing around, he likely realized his predicament. What the hellโ€ฆ Iโ€™m being treated like an auction item? I used to be a VIP at these auctions! he raged inwardly.

Seeing no familiar faces, he knew he was far from Mysonna. Looking down at the crowd, he ominously declared, "Let me tell you, anyone who bids on me, I'll make sure their entire family pays."

His words ignited anger among the auction staff. How dare an auction item speak so boldly? Many in the crowd, however, were already eager; who wouldn't want a man like him?

Worried about further outbursts, Marina quickly signaled an attendant, who rushed to cover the man's mouth. Unable to speak, he could only glare at the crowd, piquing some attendees' curiosity.

"Alright, everyone," Marina announced, "Bidding begins. The starting bid is 30 million dollars. This exceptional man is truly a rare find."

The auction participants bid feverishly. The excitement was palpable.

"37 million dollars!" "40 million dollars!" "43 million dollars!"

On the second floor, Yvette, hands in her pockets, observed the man. Her eyes seemed bottomless, a chilling smirk playing on her lips.

Rory, noticing Yvette's expression, assumed she was captivated. Even Rory felt a stir of interest. Then, remembering the scar on her own face, her fascination vanished. Beautiful men could be excellent liars, she thought, and deserved the worst punishment.

Rory scoffed, "Yvette, have you fallen for this guy? He's just another pretty face. What's so special about him?"

Yvette tilted her head, amusement in her delicate brow arch. To Rory's surprise, she pressed the bidding button. An attendant announced, "100 million dollars!"

Rory's face flushed. "Are you out of your mind? 100 million dollars for a guy? I'm telling you, I'm not spending that kind of cash! You think 100 million grows on trees?"

She couldn't believe Yvette's boldness. Even if Yvette had the money, she wouldn't be foolish enough to spend itโ€”unless she were begging on her knees.

Unfazed, Yvette nodded slowly. "100 million dollars is like pocket change to me."

Rory was stunned. Is Yvette really that crazy? Pocket change? It's utterly ridiculous!

On the first floor, the room fell silent after Yvette's bid.

"No way! Someone actually bid 100 million dollars?" "Yeah, from a VIP on the second floor. No big deal." "But seriously, even if he's drop-dead gorgeous, 100 million dollars? Who is this big spender?" "Ah, that's because you don't get it. There are lonely rich ladies on the second floor, and they're a different breed." "That's trueโ€ฆ"

Marina, too, was surprised. They'd estimated his value at around 70 million dollars. They were about to score big.

The man in the cage struggled, his face flushed. Am I really only worth 100 million dollars? Who do they think they are? he snarled.

A spark of realization hit him. He stopped struggling, planning revenge once free.

Just as Marina was about to bring down the gavel, a deep voice interrupted, "135 million dollars."

Marina's hand froze. Everyone was stunned, turning to see the source of the insane bid. A man? Some gazes shifted to a more dubious look. What could a man possibly want with another man at that price?

A man in a ghost mask stood tall, his intense gaze fixed on the second floor.

Marina regained her composure, surprised by this high roller. The 135 million bid made her hand tremble slightly as she stared at the masked man, sensing his intriguing aura.

The man in the cage fixated on the masked man, his eyes sharp. Marina looked up at the second floor. Would they raise their bids? everyone wondered.

Yvette looked down at the masked man, a hint of amusement in her eyes.

Rory, seeing Yvette's quiet demeanor after the 135 million bid, muttered, "So someone swooped in to save you. I wonder if that means she's got a thing for another guy."
