Yvette kept her eyes half-lowered, her gaze settling on Jeremiah. Her sharp eyes narrowed, the chill deepening in her stare. Seeing this, Rodney stiffened. He knew it signaled her anger; Yvette didn't lose her temper easily, so Jeremiah clearly mattered to her.

Emmett rubbed his nose awkwardly. Jeremiah had orchestrated this, but Emmett hoped Yvette wouldn't be truly angry, for Jeremiah would suffer the consequences. Yvette noted Emmett's subtle gesture, raising an eyebrow. Her eyes were as dark as the night. "Come in," she said, turning and heading toward the room.

Emmett's anxiety grew, witnessing Yvette's distance. He wondered if she'd discovered something. It shouldn't be possible; even the world's top doctors couldn't detect anything without feeling Jeremiah's pulse, could they?

Emmett and Rodney quickly helped Jeremiah onto the bed, then stood obediently aside. Yvette sat, her expression indifferent, placing her hand on Jeremiah's wrist. His pulse was weak—the pulse of someone dying.

Samantha, Charles, and Eagle King stepped forward, their eyes widening in shock at the sight of Jeremiah. Eagle King, his usual casual demeanor replaced by seriousness, changed into a pair of blue shorts. "What happened in the last half hour? Rodney, how did this happen to Jeremiah?" Samantha's face was equally solemn; she knew Jeremiah's demise would be disastrous.

Rodney looked between Yvette, who still checked Jeremiah's pulse impassively, and the others. He anxiously explained, "I swear I don't know! I bumped into him, and he fainted! I did nothing else. I had no idea Mr. Chavez was so fragile; if I had, I would have been more careful."

Rodney's frustration was evident. No one would guess someone as tough-looking as Jeremiah was so weak. Charles, Eagle King, and Samantha shared his shock. If Rodney's account—a simple bump causing a collapse—was true, it was preposterous.

Emmett, overhearing Rodney, was dumbfounded. 'Fragile? I can't imagine anyone describing Jeremiah that way,' he thought.

Eagle King and the others remained unconvinced. Between the improbable collapse and the possibility of Rodney lying, they suspected deception. Eagle King knew Jeremiah's importance to Yvette. With a serious tone, he stared at Rodney. "This isn't the time to lie. What exactly did you do? Tell us the truth."

Rodney shook his head desperately. "I'm telling the truth! I swear, if I'm lying, may Yvette never speak to me again!"

Eagle King believed him, but the situation was bizarre. Jeremiah's combat prowess was profound; he couldn't possibly faint from a simple bump. Confused, Eagle King wondered what had gone wrong.

Charles, eyeing Jeremiah, turned to Emmett. "Did he pass out as soon as you arrived?"

Samantha and Eagle King also looked at Emmett, who felt the weight of their gazes. He reluctantly nodded. "Yes, he was already unconscious."

Samantha studied Emmett's face. 'Something's off. Why is he so calm? Shouldn't he be more shaken?' she thought.

Yvette looked at Jeremiah with a faint, playful indifference.

Samantha softly asked, "How is Jeremiah, Yvette? How did he collapse from a bump?" Her question mirrored everyone's thoughts. Yvette lazily lifted her gaze, her face cold and composed. "His pulse is weak. You can leave. I need to administer acupuncture."

Samantha, Eagle King, Charles, and Rodney nodded. Emmett, feeling awkward, said, "Thank you, Yvette." Yvette's eyes half-closed, fixed on Emmett, held a deeper meaning. She softly replied, "Thank you."

Emmett froze, his heart sinking. 'What did that mean? This has nothing to do with me,' he thought.

As they left, Rodney hesitated, then returned to Jeremiah's bedside. In a guilty voice, he said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Chavez. As long as you wake up, I won't fight you for Yvette anymore." His voice cracked as he looked at Yvette, rubbing his eyes, which were red. "Yvette, I'm really sorry."

Yvette patted his head gently. "You know my medical skills are good. He won't die."

Rodney's face lit up. "I knew it! You can save Mr. Chavez!"

After they left, Yvette walked to Jeremiah and stared at his face. After a long silence, she leaned down, her lips near his ear, speaking in a sultry tone, "Keep pretending if you want."

Outside, Eagle King eyed Rodney. "I never would have guessed you had this much power, kid. Did you really knock him out with just a bump?"

Charles and Samantha also looked at Rodney. 'The kid has a bright future,' they thought. 'Imagine telling people he knocked out Jeremiah with a single bump!'

Rodney pouted, looking innocent. "I didn't use any force. Mr. Chavez is just… weak."

Emmett sighed. 'Jeremiah went to great lengths for Yvette,' he thought. 'And now "fragile" will probably stick with him forever.'

Rodney glared at Eagle King before storming off, throwing a parting eye roll. Eagle King chuckled, knowing Rodney was sulking.

Only Eagle King, Samantha, Emmett, and Charles remained. Emmett started to leave, but Samantha called, "Where are you going?"

Emmett turned, adopting a stern face. "Ah, I'm going to my room. I'm tired."

Samantha, Eagle King, and Charles exchanged knowing glances.

Meanwhile, Rodney stormed into the courtyard, looking defeated. He spoke to Kash, who had just returned. Kash squinted. "What happened?"

Rodney glanced toward Yvette's room. "Kash, I might have lost my girl."

Kash replied bluntly, "She never belonged to you."

Rodney stared at Kash in disbelief. Kash scratched his head, unsure what he'd said wrong. Samantha, Eagle King, and Charles exchanged knowing glances, slowly approaching him.
