Chapter 12

Early the next morning, Elysia stepped out of the house to find the Rosewood family's car already gone.

"Ms. Elysia Rosewood," Paul, the butler, began, uncertainly, "Ms. Emma Rosewood mentioned urgent business at school and left early. We don't have any extra drivers available, so you might need to"

Suddenly, a motorcycle pulled up.

"Mr. Jackson," Paul greeted.

Logan nodded, then grinned at Elysia. "Beg me, and I'll give you a ride to school."

"Okay," Elysia replied playfully, "but you need to get off the bike first."

Logan dismounted, standing proudly. "Looks like you care about the dramatic effect. Alright, I'm here. Go ahead."

Elysia smiled, walked past him, hopped onto the motorcycle, and grabbed a spare helmet.

Logan stared in disbelief. "You're not going to ride it, are you?"

"Just let me borrow it," Elysia said, "I'll bring it back tonight." She turned the key, twisted the throttle, and sped off.

Logan shook his head in admiration. "Well, she looks pretty cool!"

As Elysia rode into school, she turned heads.

"Wow! Who's that? She looks incredible!" someone exclaimed.

Another added, "This is the first time I've seen a girl on a motorcycle, and it looks awesome."

After parking in front of the school, Elysia removed her helmet, letting her long hair flow. She ran her fingers through it and tossed it back. Tucking her long legs in with a smooth motion, she looked cooler than most guys.

Emma watched, jealous. She recognized the motorcycle—Logan's prized possession, one of only fifty in the world. Normally, nobody was allowed to touch it. But today, he let Elysia borrow it.

"It's Elysia! That's beyond cool," a boy admired.

A girl rolled her eyes. "What's the big deal? It's just a motorcycle. Is it really that impressive?"

Ben, head of the disciplinary department, looked nervously at Elena Shelton, student union president. "Elena, doesn't this break school rules?"

Elena, tall and scholarly but unapproachable, said coolly, "The school allows students to ride to and from school, so it's not breaking any rules."

"But…" Ben started, but Elena's sharp gaze silenced him.

He grumbled, "What's up with Elena today? She's usually so uptight, but now she's bending the rules? That girl clearly violated school policy, yet Elena insists it's fine. Sure, the school allows riding to school, but that's for bicycles—not motorcycles."

When Elysia entered the classroom, most students were seated. During math class, she laid her head on her desk and fell asleep.

The math teacher, annoyed, adjusted his glasses. "Since when did Class 1 have students who sleep during class? This is unacceptable!"

Students noticed the teacher staring at Elysia. "A classic case of special treatment," they thought. "No interest in studying and no respect for the teacher."

Justin watched. Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on Elysia, creating a serene contrast to the chaotic classroom.

The teacher, maintaining his composure, said, "That student, please don't sleep in class."

A classmate tapped Elysia's desk. "The teacher's calling you."

Elysia slowly opened her eyes.

"Were you up late studying?" the teacher asked. "If you're tired, you can stand. You're in the back, so you won't disturb anyone."

"I wasn't up late," Elysia replied.

The teacher was speechless. Just as he was about to lose his temper, Elysia glanced at the board and said, "You've got this wrong. The correct answer is k-2."

Justin recalculated. Elysia was right. How?

The teacher chuckled awkwardly. "I made that mistake on purpose to test you all, and look, you're not as alert as the student who was sleeping."

Elysia frowned and went back to sleep.

"Hey! Even though you pointed out my mistake, you shouldn't sleep in class," the teacher insisted.

Elysia regretted coming to school.

Bianca Janssen, the class president, glared at Elysia. "Elysia, stop wasting our time." Bianca already disliked Elysia, and this only worsened her opinion.

"How does my sleeping waste your time?" Elysia retorted.

"The teacher reminding you is wasting all of our time," Bianca snapped.

"What the hell? Does a quick nap bother others?" Elysia felt helpless. She sighed, "Teacher, please continue. I won't sleep anymore, okay?"

She pulled out a blank sheet of paper and started doodling.

When the bell rang, Bianca collected the quizzes. Seeing Elysia's blank paper, her face darkened.

"Elysia, now that you're part of Class 1, don't disgrace us," Bianca said loudly, attracting everyone's attention. Class 1 prided itself on being a role model and wouldn't tolerate anyone tarnishing their reputation. They looked at Elysia with disdain.

Elysia's mood plummeted. She glanced at the test, deliberately chose a few wrong answers, and handed it to Bianca. "Done."

"Is this how you're brushing it off?" Bianca asked incredulously.

"It's not brushing it off, it's efficient," Elysia said dismissively.

Bianca glared, even angrier at Elysia's attitude.

Leon nudged Justin. "Maybe you should talk to them? You're sure to smooth things over."
