Chapter 75
Elysia's words were a blatant insult to Robert. He thought, "On what grounds did she call me childish?"
"You are truly infatuated, not even realizing you're being used," Elysia said.
Robert didn't understand.
Seeing his bewildered expression, Elysia explained, "You were mistaken earlier; it wasn't me scheming against Emma. Emma was scheming against me."
"The incident at the hotel was originally arranged by Emma to meet me. Do you know what excuse she used?" she continued. "She said you were waiting for me there."
Robert remained silent. Elysia continued, "She used you as a reason. Hearing this, he found it hard to believe. He had trusted Emma completely. This explanation was hard to swallow. He wondered, 'Using me as an excuse? Could Emma care so little about me?'
"She thought you were important to me, that using you as a reason, I would definitely show up. But she miscalculated. You mean nothing to me!" Elysia said, deliberately emphasizing the last sentence. Her eyes filled with mockery and disdain.
Robert's heart skipped a beat. He thought, "What's worse than being humiliated on the spot?" He had once believed Elysia liked him, and now felt disgusted by that very thought. This insult was far worse. His face darkened. He desperately wished Elysia's words weren't true.
Elysia wasn't finished. This time, her tone held a hint of amusement. "Come to think of it, Emma's downfall also involved the Davis family's contribution. If it weren't for your family's instigation, spreading rumors about her, she wouldn't have been cast out. So, the one who truly harmed Emma wasn't me, it was you!"
Although Scott had previously mentioned expelling Emma from the Rosewood family, only the Rosewoods knew. Outsiders were unaware. They only knew that after the online storm, the Rosewood Group's official Twitter account released a statement expelling Emma. Elysia said, "Doesn't Robert like Emma? I wanted to see how guilty he'd feel knowing his family's involvement."
When Robert heard "cast out of the family," his body stiffened. He couldn't believe it and almost shouted, "You're lying!"
"Whether I'm lying or not, wouldn't you know if you checked online? The Rosewood Group's official statement can't be faked."
Seeing Robert remain motionless, Elysia raised an eyebrow. "No phone?"
Seeing him unresponsive, head bowed, Elysia took out her phone and handed it to him. "Take a look for yourself." He hesitated before accepting it. He saw the trending topic about the Rosewood Group casting out their adopted daughter. He clicked, read the article, and his heart sank. It was true.
He'd had a big argument with Matthew shortly after this event went online and was confined to his room, his phone confiscated. It was then he learned about the Davis family's role. He sneered inwardly; everyone knew except him. Matthew had said the Rosewood family resolved the issue, and he foolishly believed him.

He never expected the Rosewood family's "solution" to be casting Emma out. He thought, "What a cruel heart!"
He looked at Elysia, eyes bloodshot. "Where is she now?"
"Suburban villa." Getting the answer, he stood and headed for the door.
Before he took two steps, Elysia stopped him. "Hold it."
"Is there something else?" he asked.
"Of course!" Elysia said, approaching him. "Your problem is solved, but mine isn't."
Before Robert could react, she grabbed his wrist tightly. His face contorted. He didn't expect such strength from her.
"Ouch!" Elysia seemed not to hear.
Only when he doubled over in pain did she release him. "Next time, remember your lesson. Don't grab people's wrists; it's impolite!"
Ignoring Robert's expression, she opened the door and left. Zane and Jeremy emerged from another room and saw her go. Just as Robert was about to follow, another man exited, looking flustered. Zane's attention focused on the man's back, his eyes dimming.
"Zane, what's wrong?" Jeremy asked, puzzled by his sudden stop.
"Do you know that guy?" His voice was cold. Jeremy finally noticed the man and paused. It wasn't until the man turned a corner that Jeremy saw his profile. "Isn't that the crown prince of the Davis family!"
"The Davis family!" Zane exclaimed.
"Yeah, they only have one grandson, and he's spoiled rotten," Jeremy said.
Zane frowned. He remembered the commotion at the birthday banquet was also related to the Davis family. It seemed their position in Sivro was about to be shaken.
"Zane, why are you asking about this?" Jeremy asked.
"It's useful," Zane replied, walking forward.
When Elysia reached the lobby, Nicole was waiting at a table by the window. "You're finally here! How did it go?"
"Of course," Elysia said.
"That's good. That guy had no eyes, picking a fight with you," Nicole said, leaning closer. "Is he okay?"
"Not too bad, just a bit clumsy with his hands," Elysia replied.
"Clumsy?" Nicole questioned.
"He'll have trouble using his hand for ten days to two weeks," Elysia said.
Nicole clicked her tongue. He deserved it. She gave Elysia a thumbs-up. "Well done! Keep it up next time!" She handed Elysia the menu. "I've ordered some dishes, all to your taste. See if anything is missing."
