Chapter 185

At the same time, Emma Wilson sparred and chatted with her uncles.

“Emma, why not stick with Uncle Sean in the future?” Sean Rivera quipped, his devilish charm evident. “Finance is boring. Combat is risky. Research strains your brain. The entertainment industry is safer, lucrative, and gets you lots of applause.”

He added, “The director of ‘Bell’ even asked if you'd join. Everyone says you're prettier than Celia Ortega!”

Emma smiled. “Thank you, but I’m not interested right now.”

Richard stood up. “How was training with those three special forces soldiers?”

Emma, more enthusiastic about wrestling, replied, “Not bad! I feel like I’ve improved a lot.”

Richard spread his hands. “Come, let Uncle Richard try your martial arts.”

Daniel, sipping coffee, cautioned, “Richard, know your limits. Don’t injure Emma!”

Richard retorted, “Isn’t that obvious? No one can hurt Emma if I hurt them!”

Sean chuckled, “That might not be the case. If you fight, will you still be human?”

Richard: “Who are you calling inhuman?!”

Laughter filled the Icovine Estate, a rare display of warmth and liveliness. It was hard to imagine these top figures being so adorable in private.

Richard looked at Emma gently. “Emma, don’t worry. Uncle won’t hurt you! Just hit me.”

Emma raised an eyebrow. “Then Uncle, don’t blame me for being rude.”

They began to spar. Even though mentally prepared, Richard was deeply shocked by Emma's power. Her strength and speed surpassed any ordinary thug. He wondered if three soldiers were enough to train her. Only Richard could withstand her skills.

After several rounds, Richard showed no flaws. Emma finally stopped, citing the strength disparity.

“I lost. Uncle is still better.”

Sean scoffed, “How did you lose? Your movements were faster than your second uncle's. Emma, were you deliberately letting him win?”

“No!” To outsiders, it might have looked like Richard was defenseless, but an expert would see his unwavering stability—true strength.

Emma explained, “Second Uncle's martial arts are profound. Even with all my stamina, I couldn't shake him.”

Sean remained skeptical. He approached Richard, teasing, “Looks like you’re still worthy of those medals! You can’t even defeat a little girl.”

Richard, usually angered by such teasing, replied seriously, “Emma’s no ordinary girl. Her strength is equal to any female soldier I’ve seen, even rare worldwide!”

The other uncles were stunned. This evaluation from Richard was significant. Emma had grown remarkably during their absence.

The four uncles looked at Emma. Her eyes resembled her mother’s, but Stella Rivera, a lover of arts, knew nothing of martial arts. Emma, a world-class wrestling master, was vastly different, possessing a stubbornness her mother lacked.

A wave of emotion washed over the uncles. How much had she suffered? If they’d been there from the start… she might not be so outstanding, but she would have been a carefree princess.

Lost in thought, a silence fell upon the evening garden. Then, Emma cried out in pain.

“What happened?”

The uncles rushed to her side. Sean reflexively punched Richard.

“It’s your fault! You injured Emma!”

Richard protested, “How? I didn’t do anything!”

Emma said, “It’s fine. I must have overexerted myself and twisted my wrist.” She’d felt discomfort since Jenson’s visit, and today’s exertion aggravated it.

Sean grumbled, “It’s still your fault for being so hard and hurting her hand!”

Richard retorted, “Is it my fault I’m strong?”

The atmosphere shifted. Ji Linyue glanced at Sean, who chuckled. Daniel cleared his throat. “Richard, watch your words.”

Liam Hall, with a somber expression, returned from the old residence. Seeing the group around Emma, he immediately strode towards her.

“Emma, is your wrist hurting again?”

Emma nodded. Liam expertly examined her wrist, gently manipulating her fingers.

“Don’t use your hands. I’ll find the best medicine. Rest for three days.”

The uncles exchanged knowing smiles. Their initial worries about Emma and Liam had vanished, witnessing his genuine care.

Sean insisted, “Liam Hall, if I see Emma’s wrist isn’t healed, I’ll settle the score with you.”

Liam calmly replied, “I’ll take good care of her.”

Daniel politely announced their departure, requesting Liam's continued care for Emma. Richard added, “Tell Second Uncle if she suffers any grievances!”

Ji Linyue nodded, offering Emma a chance to see a nuclear reactor experiment. Emma, thrilled, remembered mentioning this to him. His quiet demeanor hid deep affection.

After the uncles left, Emma, reluctant to let go, clung to Liam. “Hubby, thank goodness I still have you!”

Liam, initially gloomy, found his anger and fatigue dissipate at her embrace. He held her close, assuring her she could see her uncles anytime.

Emma, feeling better, asked, “Hubby, can we go somewhere tonight?”
