Chapter 211

The two drunken, wealthy young men left resentfully. Emma sneered at them, then turned to Lane. “Are you alright?”

Lane shook her head, biting her lip. She looked a little dispirited. Emma didn't inquire about Lane's presence, instead saying, “There are a lot of drunkards here at night. Go home as soon as you’re finished. Don’t worry about those hooligans. If they bully you, fight back. If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility.”

Lane was surprised by Emma’s words. She clasped her fingers tighter. The cold night felt warmer; Emma's support was touching.

“Thanks… Got it, Miss Wilson,” Lane said.

Emma nodded. She then saw Liam's car pull up from the basement, joining the traffic and stopping at the mall entrance. She waved to Lane. “I’m going home first.”

“Okay. Miss Wilson, don’t worry,” Lane replied.

In the car, Liam glanced at the spot where Emma had just been. His hands expertly maneuvered the steering wheel. The car’s excellent soundproofing made his voice sound even more mature and pleasant. “Did you run into Lane?”

“Yeah,” Emma said. “I saw her being harassed by a few hooligans.”

“Are you alright?” Liam asked.

Emma shook her head. “Who can touch your wife?”

Liam smiled, his eyes filled with love and warmth as he started the car.

Reaching Icovine Estate, Liam, ever meticulous, instructed Levi to check the security footage to identify the two men.

The young man with the injured hand went straight home, too afraid to go to the hospital for fear of encountering Emma again. He just wanted to reach his parents and have them get justice for him.

The twenty-something-year-old cried in his mother's arms, while the family doctor treated his injury.

Owen’s mother, Gina Allen, was furious and shocked. “What’s going on? Which shameless woman dared to beat my son like this?”

The Allens were prominent figures in Troln City real estate, having amassed considerable wealth over the years. Silas Allen, having built his company from the ground up, shielded Owen from hardship, showering him with affection and material possessions. Before graduating high school, Owen had been given numerous credit cards, and upon entering university, received a sports car worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. He’d become increasingly arrogant and flamboyant.

Over the years, Owen had done many foolish things, but Silas had always overlooked them. This was the first time Owen had suffered such a beating, and Silas was furious. He immediately questioned Samson, who had been with Owen. Samson, who had bullied Emma and Lane alongside Owen, explained the events, but omitted key details, twisting the truth to portray themselves as victims who had been beaten by two girls they'd attempted to flirt with. He made no mention of their threats to Emma and Lane.

Silas and Gina were enraged by Samson's account.

“Ridiculous! How could this happen?” Silas shouted.

“Owen, why are you so stupid? Why provoke them?” Gina asked.

Owen, still wiping tears, feigned helplessness. “I just thought they looked nice and wanted to talk to them. Who knew…”

Silas slammed his hand on the table. “Enough. I won’t let this rest. I want to know who they are. How dare they attack my son?”

He summoned the butler.

“Yes, sir?” the butler responded timidly.

Silas, serious, said, “Find the surveillance footage immediately and identify who attacked Owen today.”

Unlike Liam, accessing the footage would likely take several days.

Unexpectedly, the next day, while Owen continued his pitiful act, a lawyer’s letter arrived.

Silas was enraged. “These two shameless women assaulted Owen and dare to claim it’s his fault?”

The butler added, “Sir, it states they didn't initially strike him. They allege Mr. Owen sexually harassed them.”

“Ridiculous!” Silas stood up, his belly prominent. “Who are they? I’ll find them now.”

The butler’s eyes widened as he saw the signature. “But… no way.”

“Who is it?” Silas demanded, grabbing the letter. He was stunned. The Halls Group? Could it be that Halls Group?

Gina, equally curious, asked, “What happened? Didn’t you say you’d get Owen justice?”

Silas tossed the letter to Gina. “See for yourself.”

Gina gasped upon seeing “Halls Group.” “That’s… impossible, right? The Hall family?”
