Chapter 75

As Emma spoke, a mocking sneer played on her beautiful face. Alva, looking into Emma's eyes, felt immediate fear. Emma's face was filled with lethal intent. Alva, she realized, was merely a show-off, trained by amateurs.

"You! Let go!"

At that moment, the coach ran up. "Alva, stop!" He was a professional, and he'd long sensed something amiss. Alva lowered her head in shame.

Emma stated, "Coach, I suspect her sword and my fencing suit are faulty. I request an investigation!" The school would certainly investigate if someone nearly died due to equipment failure.

News of Emma's victory spread like wildfire, reaching the entire fencing community. Everyone wondered who this girl was.

After class, the venue emptied, leaving only Emma and the coach examining the fencing suits. As he packed his sword, the coach asked, "Emma, have you competed professionally before?"

Emma calmly folded a suit. "Why do you ask?"

The coach explained, "I witnessed a competition where a fencer resembled you." He'd led the national team; he remembered Rhinea's humiliation at a World Championship, where the opposing country cheated and resorted to blatant discrimination. The Rhineans present were furious. Then, a young Rhinean woman from the audience, spontaneously changing into her fencing suit, challenged the opponent—a top professional who nearly laughed herself to death at the sight.

Though everyone worried, the Rhinean girl was composed and steady. Her attack was like a dragon emerging from the river. She'd combined martial arts, psychology, and luck to defeat the supposedly invincible opponent. That match captivated the fencing world; the media and enthusiasts scrambled to discover her identity, but she vanished mysteriously. Until today, when the coach saw Emma, recognizing her posture as identical to that of the mysterious fencer.

"Emma, at seventeen, did you participate in a…"

Emma smiled. "Coach, I'm an ordinary student new to Troin City. At seventeen, I was still in the countryside."

The coach agreed. Emma couldn't be that Rhinean girl; otherwise, she would've been recruited nationally, not attending Vark College. "Yes, yes. I must have been mistaken." He patted her shoulder. "Emma, you're incredibly talented. Practice hard; you'll achieve greatness and become world-famous!"

"Thank you, Coach."

The broken sword and fencing suit were submitted for inspection. But videos of her duel with Alva went viral, attracting enthusiastic comments:

[The young lady is too cool! She’s calm and domineering.] [She is so valiant and cool. I was so excited when I watched the match.] [Fencing is so cool! I’m going to start paying attention to fencing matches!] [What’s her name? Please start taking part in competitions!]

Then, a negative comment appeared:

[I’m Emma Wilson’s relative. After Emma hooked up with a rich man, she disowned all her relatives and killed her sister. Even when her grandmother was critically ill, she just sat back and did nothing. I want netizens to see her true colors!]

Emma quickly traced the IP address to Troin City, guessing it was Nora Wilson. She wanted to see Nora's next move. Unexpectedly, Nora's message was immediately met with criticism:

[Mr. Rivera’s niece is indeed outstanding. I think you’re just being jealous!] [That’s right. What kind of relative are you? Do you dare to reveal your name?] [You are suffering from brain damage! Emma Wilson’s sister died because of her relationship with a perverted rich heir. What does that have to do with Emma Wilson?] [Aria Wilson isn’t a good person either. She bullied Emma a lot when she was alive. She even pretended to have a miscarriage to frame Emma Wilson, Does she really think that we can’t find any useful information on the internet? Brainless haters.] [Not to mention Aria Wilson, the entire Wilson family people are heartless. Emma Wilson had been wandering in many places for so long. I don’t believe that they really can’t find her.] [When Emma Wilson was young, her family members and relatives didn’t do their part at all. Why do they need Emma to support them now? Do they really think their daughters are tools?] [Sucker parents, die!]

Nora's attempt to smear Emma backfired spectacularly. Called out for her lies and even subjected to harsh insults, she retreated, deleting her posts and crying in the toilet, cursing the world's unfairness.

It was Elsie Weeds and Kate Johnson, Brad's lost assistants. His mother was in police custody. Desperation drove him to send Alva to assassinate Emma. But Alva was no match.

Brad's eyes bulged. "Useless thing! You're a professional! How could you not defeat Emma Wilson? Is she a world champion?"

Alva sobbed, "I've fought world champions. Emma is better… She's amazing. She fenced like a demon! I'm quitting!" Traumatized, Alva found the Rhineans terrifying, their fighting skills like something from a movie.

Brad wouldn't let her quit. His expression was vicious. "Do you think you can leave now that you know my secret?" "Lock her up!"

Alva disappeared. Her parents contacted Vark College and the police. The school investigated, and netizens, given the viral video, quickly discovered Alva's disappearance, causing widespread concern. After three days, anxiety mounted; Alva was likely dead. Rumors began to circulate online and in school, and Emma became the prime suspect.
