Chapter 95
“To the movies,” Liam said.
Emma’s eyes lit up. She looked at Liam, uncertain. “Really? Are you sure you want to go with me? It’s going to be crowded, noisy… there might even be a line. You…” Liam had always seemed above such things in Emma's mind; she doubted he'd enjoy a cinema.
Liam gently pinched her nose. “Let’s go, or we’ll be late.”
Emma cheered, tiptoeing to kiss his cheek. “Hubby, you’re so good to me. I love you.” Liam pulled her into a hug and kiss.
At the cinema, Emma used Liam’s phone to buy tickets while he waited. As she collected them, two students noticed Liam. They approached him.
“Sorry to disturb you, handsome,” one said. “Can we add you on WhatsApp? We’re not harassing, we just…”
The other nodded in agreement. Their eyes widened at Liam's striking appearance. His high cheekbones, sharp dark eyebrows, and sophisticated attire gave him a commanding presence, like a CEO stepping from a novel. His aura seemed at odds with the casual atmosphere.
Liam was about to refuse when Emma arrived, kissing his cheek. "I got the tickets. Let’s go, hubby," she said, smiling.
Chapter 55
Only then did the girls realize Liam was married. They stammered apologies and fled.
Emma laughed, feeding Liam popcorn. “Mr. Hall, it seems you’re very popular with young ladies?”
Liam pulled her close. “Young ladies like you?”
Emma’s smile widened. “Perhaps. With your mature and seductive looks, you’re like a male lead – a real lady killer.”
“A killer?” Liam asked.
Emma explained the term, noting that women of all ages found him attractive. Liam mentally registered this.
In the darkened cinema, a classic romance film began. Emma, unfamiliar with it, anticipated watching with Liam. The male lead, in a white shirt and black pants, appeared melancholic.
Liam whispered, “Is this the lady killer you mentioned?”
Emma nodded. “Don’t you think he’s handsome?”
“Not bad,” Liam murmured, slightly unhappy at the comparison. “He’s like me?”
Emma looked at him. “You’re more handsome.”
The movie was moving, intensifying the romantic atmosphere.
However, a man beside Emma talked on his phone, disrupting their enjoyment. Emma frowned repeatedly, unable to intervene. Liam, noticing this, discreetly messaged Levi.
Soon, cinema staff arrived and addressed the situation. Emma simply felt the renewed quiet.
Afterward, hand-in-hand, Emma exclaimed, “The management here is amazing! That man was talking incessantly, but they dealt with it quickly.”
Liam remained silent, simply holding her hand. As they exited, several people respectfully greeted Liam as "Mr. Hall." Emma was surprised.
Liam smiled, explaining they were mall and cinema managers. Emma was speechless. Nearby moviegoers openly admired them.
The cinema manager offered a VIP screening room for future visits. Liam, glancing at Emma, replied, “I only listen to her.”
The managers immediately understood Emma's importance and offered her a similar invitation for future visits, including complimentary spa services and beverages. Emma politely thanked them, pulling Liam away.
Later, Emma realized Liam’s business connections with the mall and cinema. Liam simply stated Levi had resolved the noisy patron with a phone call. Emma mused on Liam’s effortless aura of authority, even in a casual setting.
Back in the car, Emma’s phone vibrated. Class group photos showed her and Liam at the cinema, including the managers greeting them. James's message teased her about seeing her with "his idol." The group chat erupted with comments.
