Listen to this chapter:

Just as she was about to leave, Benny reached out and ruffled Michael's hair. "Bye-bye, little guy," he said.

"Bye-bye, Mr. Lime! Bye-bye, Mr. Bunny!" Michael replied.

Once Teresa was out of earshot, Benny turned to Jonathan, opened his palm, revealing a strand of hair. He held it up. "So, you're really saying he's not your son? Want me to get a DNA test? I've already done it several times. He's not mine," Jonathan said, turning to leave. But Benny stopped him.

"Hey, where are you running off to? Explain this to me. How can he not be yours? He looks just like you! And Teresa clearly treasures him," Benny insisted.

"The kid's got to be around three years old. Did this happen before your divorce? Were you hiding this from me? After all the things I've done for you, you're really going to keep secrets from me? We are friends, aren't we?" Benny pressed.

"If I'm that kid's dad, I'll soar to the moon," Jonathan said.

Benny froze for a second, then clapped Jonathan on the shoulder. "Alright, slight hope you canโ€ฆ"

"Cut it out," Jonathan said, brushing him off. "He's not mine. Go do whatever it is you need to do. I'm busy!"

But Benny wasn't about to let him go. "Wait a second. I just rememberedโ€”I've seen that kid before. Remember when I sent you that photo of a kid who looked just like you?"

"I saw him on the street, but he had a dad with him, so I figured he wasn't yours. But now I'm curiousโ€”who is the kid's father? Tell me, and I'll look into it," Benny persisted.

Jonathan had no interest in entertaining Benny's nonsense. He got into his car.

Still persistent, Benny called out, "How about this? Give me one of your hairs. I'll do the DNA test myself. I'll drop it."

Just as Jonathan was about to start the car, Benny leaned against the passenger-side window, grinning. "Come on, don't be like that. Just one hair. If it's not a match, then fine. You've got nothing to lose."

"I've already done three DNA tests with this kid. Three. It's a fact. He's not mine," Jonathan groaned, revved the engine, and left Benny in a cloud of dust.

Benny stood there, hands in his pockets, watching Jonathan's car disappear. "Three tests say no, but the kid's face says yes. What's the deal here? By the way, from the way he spoke, it seemed like he was really hoping that the child is his," he wondered.

"Heh, this is getting interesting. My dull life finally has some entertainment," Benny muttered, slipping Michael's strand of hair into his phone case and pressing it down. He drove off shortly after.

Not long after Benny left, a white Mercedes-Benz C260 slowly pulled in. Jennifer had seen everything unfold.

Jennifer's eyes flashed with anger. She parked her car in the garage, went inside, and told Teresa, "Benny is suspicious about Michael."

Teresa frowned, clearly irritated. "Let him do the DNA test if he wants. If I try to explain now, it'll just make me look guilty. I'm not going to dig my own grave."

Jennifer snapped, "This is all your fault. Why did you have to parade Michael around?"

"Parade him? I took my son for a haircut, and that's all. I barely take him out as it is. How was I supposed to know Jonathan would be there? Benny followed Jonathan's car. It's not my fault," Teresa shot back.

Teresa was tired of Jennifer's constant nagging. She wasn't someone to be pushed around.

"I'm not blaming you," Jennifer said, "but you need to be more careful. If you really want to keep Michael's identity hidden, you can't be this careless. Now Benny's definitely going to do that DNA test."
