Chapter 674

Cheryl snapped a photo of her wrist, bruised purple from Jenniferโ€™s tight grip, and sent it straight to Donald. At the same time, she typed out an accusatory message about Jennifer, her finger hovering over the send button.

Jennifer poked her head out of the kitchen and sneered, โ€œDid I say something wrong? Iโ€™ve been putting up with you for ages, too. Do you honestly think I like you?

โ€œYour entire family, besides Donald, is a bunch of insufferable jerks, each one more annoying than the next.โ€

Cheryl smirked instead of getting angry. She said, โ€œGo ahead. Keep talking.โ€ She had recorded Jenniferโ€™s words and sent the recording to Donald.

She added, โ€œIโ€™ve got it all recorded and sent to Donald. Just you wait, Jennifer, this isnโ€™t over between us.โ€

Jenniferโ€™s expression flickered. She thought, โ€˜Did she really send it? No way!โ€™ Just as she was about to hurl another insult at Cheryl, Teresa cut her off sharply.

โ€œAre you two done yet? Iโ€™m leaving soon. If you want to fight, take it outside,โ€ Teresa snapped. Then she looked at Cheryl and said, โ€œI canโ€™t look after Serena today. My flightโ€™s at 7:30, so Iโ€™ll be leaving soon.โ€

Cheryl finally noticed Teresaโ€™s luggage by the entrance. She asked, โ€œTeresa, where are you going?โ€

โ€œJust going abroad for a break,โ€ Teresa replied calmly.

Cheryl nodded softly and said, โ€œSince you are heading out, I will be leaving now.โ€ Teresa had already been so kind to her, and Cheryl couldnโ€™t bring herself to ask for anything more. She soon left.

The rain had stopped, and since Cheryl had driven her own car there, transportation wasnโ€™t an issue โ€“ Teresa didnโ€™t need to worry about how Cheryl would get home.

Jennifer composed herself and forced a smile at Michael. She said, โ€œMike, have some pasta. I made it for you.โ€

Michael shook his head and replied, โ€œIโ€™m not hungry.โ€

Teresa could tell Michael was a bit shaken, so she served him a bowl of pasta and reassured him, โ€œThereโ€™s nothing to worry about, sweetheart. Go ahead and eat.โ€

โ€œMom, Jennifer and Aunt Cheryl arenโ€™t going to fight again, are they?โ€ Michael asked anxiously.

Teresaโ€™s heart ached at his worried expression. She gently reassured him, โ€œNo, sweetheart, donโ€™t be scared. They werenโ€™t really fighting.โ€

Jennifer interjected, โ€œMike, your pastaโ€™s getting soggy. Hurry up and eat.โ€

Teresa gently stroked Michaelโ€™s hair and said softly, โ€œThatโ€™s my boy, eat up. After you finish the pasta, weโ€™ll head to the airport for our flight.โ€

Michael finally nodded and began devouring his pasta. He was truly hungry after his nap.

After Michael finished the pasta, Jennifer was already waiting in the living room. She said, โ€œCome on, itโ€™s time to go.โ€

Teresa was still lingering in the bedroom โ€“ no one knew what was taking her so long.

Michael stuck close to Teresa, following her wherever she went.

Just then, Jenniferโ€™s phone rang. It was Donald calling.

Donald said, โ€œLetโ€™s meet. Right now. At the meadow where I proposed to you.โ€

Jennifer asked, โ€œWhy there? Hello? Donald?โ€ Before she could finish, the call was abruptly disconnected.

Jennifer felt a terrible premonition rapidly intensifying inside her. She quickly turned to Teresa and blurted out, โ€œSomethingโ€™s wrong. Donald knows about Mikeโ€™s secret.โ€

Teresa exclaimed, โ€œWhat? How could Donald possibly know about Mike?โ€ Before she could finish, Jennifer was already gone.

As Jennifer left, she only managed to call out, โ€œWait for me. Iโ€™ll be right back.โ€

Teresa shouted after her, but Jennifer didnโ€™t quite catch it.

Rushing downstairs, Jennifer realized that in her haste, she hadnโ€™t noticed sheโ€™d grabbed Teresaโ€™s Porsche keys from the table by mistake. She thought, โ€˜That must have been what Teresa was trying to warn me about just now.โ€˜
