Chapter 839

โ€œDo what your mom wants and marry that Kelly heiress. Iโ€™m tired. I meant every word I said just now.โ€

With that, Teresa turned to leave. But before she could take another step, she was suddenly pulled into Jonathanโ€™s arms from behind.

He stood behind her like a sturdy tree, holding her tightly, his arms draped securely over her shoulders.

โ€œI told you, Iโ€™m not marrying anyone else. You never think about how your words will affect others.โ€

Teresa pulled away from him, forcing herself to stay calm.

โ€œGo be the son your family wants. A marriage without their blessing wonโ€™t work. Ours proved that. So why canโ€™t I wish you well and hope you find someone who fits you?โ€

โ€œIf two people truly love each other, how could their families not give them their blessing? Who was the one who first brought up divorce? Think about what you said to me back then.โ€

โ€œBut have you ever thought that maybe what you see as the result is the cause? Maybe we didnโ€™t dare to love each other because we never had our familyโ€™s blessing.โ€

โ€˜Not dare to love?โ€™ Jonathan thought, his heart trembling. He suddenly tightened his grip on Teresaโ€™s arm.

โ€œSo, are you saying you love me?โ€ Jonathan asked.

Teresa impatiently shook off his hand. โ€œI donโ€™t love you. You shouldโ€™ve listened to your mom and married Yvonne back then. Then we wouldnโ€™t be stuck in all this drama.โ€

Jonathan stayed silent. Teresa had called a cab and was ready to leave, but he stepped in her way, eyes filled with quiet stubbornness, refusing to let her go.

โ€œWhy is it always you who says the harshest words, but Iโ€™m the one left hurting? What did I ever do to deserve you torturing me like this?โ€

She was driving him insane. If he ever truly lost his mind one day, it would be because of her, because she could twist his heart any way she wanted without the slightest concern.

โ€œThen just stay away from me, and we can stop torturing each other,โ€ Teresa said.

She turned and got into the taxi, tears streaming down her face. Jonathan stood there, his fists clenched tightly.

At the bar, Jonathan kept knocking back drinks one after another. He leaned back in his chair, his tall figure looking a little lost, and the table in front of him was already covered in empty glasses.

โ€œMr. Lynn,โ€ a subordinate said as he walked over. โ€œHereโ€™s the latest report on Teresouth Group, just like you asked.โ€

Jonathan flipped through the file, but the moment he spotted the name โ€œYalena Kellyโ€ from the Kelly family, he smashed his glass with a sharp crack.

By the time he returned to the office, it was already afternoon. Jonathan immediately held a press conference, stating he had only met Yalena from the Kelly family a few times and that they were not even friends, let alone engaged.

He spoke with a hard edge, warning the media that if they wanted to report anything about him, theyโ€™d better check with him first. Otherwise, theyโ€™d have to face the consequences.

โ€œMr. Lynn, someoneโ€™s here to see you.โ€

Back in his office, Jonathan looked coolly at the file in his hands and said flatly, โ€œLet them in.โ€

โ€œWhat brings you here, Ms. Kelly?โ€ Jonathan asked.

โ€œMr. Lynn,โ€ Yalena said, feigning innocence, โ€œI donโ€™t get it. Why are you targeting my company?โ€

Jonathan looked up, his eyes turning cold. He wasnโ€™t buying her act. โ€œMs. Kelly, if you dare to go after my people, why shouldnโ€™t I go after you?โ€

Yalena gritted her teeth, surprised that Jonathan had caught on.

โ€œYou mean Teresa? But didnโ€™t you two already get divorced?โ€ Yalena pressed.

Jonathan said firmly, โ€œSheโ€™s still mine, I wonโ€™t let anyone bully her.โ€
