Listen to this chapter:

After Richard left, Frederick sat on the sofa, his mind filled with everything that had happened recently. In his mind, Claire would switch between her bold, domineering, and fiery temperament before prison and her cautious, submissive appearance afterward. He remembered his instructions not to let her use anything in the villa. Subconsciously, he glanced towards the basement, feeling an inexplicable annoyance.

After a while, he clenched his fist and picked up his phone to call Harrison. โ€œItโ€™s late, is there something wrong?โ€ Harrison answered quickly. โ€œLetโ€™s meet at Eclipse Nightclub,โ€ Frederick invited him.

At ten o'clock that evening, Harrison arrived at Eclipse Nightclub. When he entered the private room, Frederick had already consumed quite a bit of alcohol. โ€œI just chatted with Grandma and arrived late, and youโ€™ve already had this much to drink. Whatโ€™s wrong? Has something happened?โ€ Harrison could tell Frederick was troubled.

โ€œHarrison, Claire is now living in my manor,โ€ Frederick said, looking up and taking a sip of his drink. โ€œYouโ€™re out of your mind, Frederick! Have you forgotten about Annaโ€™s death? How can you keep her around?โ€ Upon hearing this, Harrison slammed the table and stood up, the drinks splashing onto the floor. In his eyes, Claire not only impersonated Anna as his sister for years but also enjoyed everything Anna should have. And after discovering the truth, she even caused Annaโ€™s death using the most malicious and dirty methods. There was nothing more cruel for a girl than being defiled to death.

โ€œI havenโ€™t forgotten! Itโ€™s precisely because I havenโ€™t forgotten that I kept her by my side. You know my current situationโ€ฆโ€

Frederick had anticipated Harrisonโ€™s reaction and explained everything, including recent events. โ€œHarrison, what do you think a person must go through to change so dramatically?โ€ After he finished speaking, Frederickโ€™s mind was filled with Claireโ€™s humility and cautiousness in recent days.

โ€œYou donโ€™t need to go through anything. Itโ€™s not what you think. Claire is just pretending. Tell me, what does it mean for someone who has spent four years in prison to regain her freedom?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s like a camel dying of thirst in the desert, finally finding an oasis. Claire will do everything possible to hold onto this newfound freedom.โ€

โ€œI grew up with her for twenty years. No one understands her true nature better than me. Thereโ€™s no need to investigate the matters that happened in prison. Trust me, in a few days, she will reveal her true colors.โ€

As Claireโ€™s brother, Harrison had spent twenty years witnessing her sharp tongue, irritability, and willfulness. He couldnโ€™t believe she had undergone such a drastic personality change. He thought it was simply a means for her to avoid returning to prison.

After listening to Harrisonโ€™s words, Frederick sneered, suddenly feeling foolish. He immediately took out his phone and messaged Richard, telling him there was no need to investigate what happened in prison anymore.

For the next few days, Frederick didnโ€™t even return to the manor. It wasnโ€™t until three days later that the butler, Bailey, called. โ€œGeneral Hawthorne, something has happened. Ms. Caroline Beaumont came over and had a conflict with Ms. Prescott, and Ms. Beaumont fell down the stairs.โ€
