Chapter 270: She Would Kill Claire

โ€œOf course. Nobody knows her better than I do!โ€ A womanโ€™s triumphant laughter echoed through the phone.

โ€œI have to admit that you do know Caroline well, but Iโ€™m more curious about why you know her so intimately.โ€ Noahโ€™s interest in the woman on the other end of the line was piqued. A woman willing to pay that much to toy with another woman must be quite the thrill to be with herself!

โ€œMr. Mitchell, curiosity killed the cat! You just need to earn your money. Donโ€™t ask questions you shouldnโ€™t! Or you might not know how you end up dead.โ€ The woman snorted coldly, seeming to guess Noahโ€™s thoughts right away.

โ€œAlright. When will the money hit my account?โ€ Noah nodded, not pressing the matter further. He had a feeling this woman was not someone to be trifled with, and it wasnโ€™t worth it to cross her.

About a week ago, while on a business trip, this woman approached Noah. She got straight to the point, offering to pay him to toy with Caroline. When Noah heard the target was Caroline, who was close to Frederick, he wanted to refuse immediately. But the woman sent him an email with detailed information about Frederick and Caroline. There was even a file on him, complete with videos and high-definition photos. She was threatening him, no doubt about it, but the price was highโ€”ten million dollars! In the end, Noah agreed.

Ironically, Caroline showed up and asked him to deal with a woman as well. It was almost comical! He knew everything about Caroline. There was no way she could come up with ten million dollars for him. Moreover, the woman she wanted him to go after was Claire, Frederickโ€™s fiancรฉe. Regardless of their relationship, Claire was Frederickโ€™s official fiancรฉe. If anything happened to Claire, Noah knew heโ€™d be in deep trouble. He liked to play with women, and he wanted money, but he wasnโ€™t foolish enough to risk his life. However, he was growing increasingly curious about the relationships between these three women and Frederick.

As Noah was lost in thought, the womanโ€™s voice came through the phone again. โ€œIโ€™m abroad. The money will take at least two business days to arrive. Be patient. I wonโ€™t stiff you on such a small amount.โ€

โ€œOf course. Iโ€™ll be waiting to collect, then.โ€ Noah chuckled and hung up the phone. Reflecting on everything, he felt a strange excitement deep inside. If it werenโ€™t for the connection these women had with Frederick, he would have really wanted to get involved with them. Noah sighed, โ€œWhat a pity! Such an interesting affair might never come by in a lifetime!โ€

Meanwhile, Caroline, battered and bruised, left Noahโ€™s house. She stood by the roadside, indecisive. If she went back to the Halfmoon Manor now, what would happen if someone noticed her injuries? But if she didnโ€™t go back and Frederick sent people to look for her, it would be even more troublesome. After much hesitation, Caroline decided to go back, but not right away. She messaged Frederick and then prepared to go to the pharmacy to buy some medicine to treat her wounds so they could heal faster.

As for Noah, everything was because of that woman abroad. Caroline planned to call the woman after she applied her medicine. At seven in the evening, Caroline arrived at the hotel. After applying her medicine, she picked up her phone and dialed the womanโ€™s number. โ€˜Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service. Please check and dial again.โ€™ She tried several times, but all she got was the mechanical female voice.

โ€œAh!โ€ Caroline, listening to the repetitive mechanical voice, smashed her phone to the ground in frustration. Her anger had nowhere to go, and she picked up a cup from the hotel table, ready to smash it on the floor. But halfway through her action, Caroline remembered she wasnโ€™t at home, and there was no one to clean up after her. If she broke the hotelโ€™s property, sheโ€™d have to pay for the damages. She was furious! She glanced at her phone on the floor and eventually suppressed her rage, picking it up. Fortunately, it was just the screen that was cracked. The phone was still turned on and was usable.

โ€œHello?โ€ As soon as the call connected, Caroline let out a string of angry words. โ€œWhat do you mean? Wasnโ€™t it all arranged? I served him, I suffered. Iโ€™m covered in injuries, but Mr. Mitchell didnโ€™t agree to anything!โ€ If it werenโ€™t for her need for them, she would have cursed them out directly!

โ€œItโ€™s not that he didnโ€™t agree with you, itโ€™s that you werenโ€™t good enough. We did talk to Mr. Mitchell, but you didnโ€™t satisfy him. You come to me with complaints? Are you kidding me? Get lost!โ€ He berated Caroline and hung up the phone.

โ€œWhatโ€ฆ Iโ€ฆโ€ Caroline, already seething with anger, was now ready to explode. She really didnโ€™t want to hold back any longer, but as soon as she started to speak, the call ended. She tried to call back, only to find herself blocked. Now, Caroline was really losing it! Zachary had yet to make a move, and her attempt to get close to Noah from the Hiokeeh Group had failed despite a day of torment. Diana was abroad, still under surveillance by the Hawthorneโ€ฆ

โ€œAm I really just going to watch Claire lie with my Frederick every day? No! Never!โ€ Desperate, Caroline was on the verge of madness. At this moment, she had only one thought leftโ€”to kill Claire! Yes, she would kill Claire! After all, she still had one last trump card to play.
