Chapter 341: Lucky Star
โMr. Arthur Hawthorne, give me all of it! Fuck me hard!!โ
As their passion reached its peak, Vivian clung to Arthur, resting her head on his shoulder. Her teeth sank into his flesh, leaving a mark.
โOkay. I really like this wild side of you! That bite sets my blood on fire! Tonight, Iโll make you fly to the heavens!โ Arthur exclaimed.
He reveled in the sharp sensation of her bite, his body responding to the electric thrill that shot through him. The silvery moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over their entwined bodies. Sweat glistened on their skin, and every heavy breath built the tension higher until they were lost completely in orgasm. It was a night destined for madness.
Their fevered passion lasted well into the early hours of the morning. Until the first light of dawn began to break, they finally fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. But while they lay there, lost in the afterglow of their desire, Richard and Shawn had already been locked in a silent battle of wits for hours.
The next morning, as the first rays of sunlight crept over the horizon, Frederickโs phone rang.
โGeneral Hawthorne, bad news. Thereโs been a massive riot on the outskirts of Kingstown. From the looks of it, they are terrorists led by Alan, Markโs brother,โ Richard explained.
He was also shaken awake by his own ringing phone. Hanging up, he immediately dialed Frederickโs number. He had spent the previous night wrestling with the video on Dianaโs phone. It wasnโt until 4 a.m. that he finally drifted off to sleep. Merely a few hours into a deep slumber, his cell phone rudely awakened him with its ringing.
โAlright, get everyone together and head over there immediately. Iโm on my way!โ
Frederick sprang to his feet, clutching his cell phone in one hand while grabbing his clothes from beside him with the other, hastily dressing himself.
โYes, General Hawthorne. But thereโs something you should know. I checked Ms. Prescottโs video last night. I was onto something, a real lead, but out of nowhere, someone stepped in to block me. The two individuals I pegged as likely having crafted the video have vanished without a trace. If weโre going to keep digging, weโll need to chase down leads on these two missing persons, and thatโs going to take some time.โ
Richardโs mind flashed back to the findings from last nightโs probe into the scandalous video involving Claire and Antony, so he brought it up once more.
โThereโs no hurry with that right now. The priority is the riot led by Alan. Itโs been too long since weโve heard anything from him.โ
โI have a bad feeling about this. Theyโve probably been preparing for something big. This riot wonโt be the last one. We need to get people on the ground immediately and find some actionable clues. Dig up what theyโre planning, and then we need to figure out where the next attack might happen. If we donโt, Kingstown could be in serious trouble.โ
Frederick had no time to dwell on Claire and Antonyโs video anymore. Since his last encounter with Alan, he had a nagging feeling in his gut. Alan was far more dangerous and twisted than his brother Mark had ever been.
โOkay, I see,โ Richard replied without hesitation. He hung up, dressed quickly, and rushed out the door to the scene of the riot.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Shawn had also received word of the riot. He wasted no time in picking up the phone to report to Arthur.
Arthur laughed. โThis riot couldnโt have come at a better time. If we werenโt on opposite sides, Iโd almost want to thank Alan for this opportunity.โ
โItโs true that water is a boon in the desert, but the drowning man curses it. Frederick rose to fame by taking down Mark, the terrorist leader. Now, here comes Alan, Markโs brother, stirring up chaos at the most critical moment. Frederick is in charge of the entire Kingstown Security Department. If riots break out in multiple places, we can stop our plans. If there are a few more disturbances like this, Frederick will never have a shot at becoming president in his lifetime. His reputation will be in ruins.โ Arthur couldnโt help but feel a surge of excitement when he received the news.
Shawn could hardly contain his excitement. โSo, should we make our move quietly?โ he asked.
Arthur quickly intervened, โNo, Shawn! Remember that you canโt ever get mixed up with them. If you do, everything in the Hawthorne family will be off-limits to me.โ He gave Shawn a few more instructions before ending the call.
As he hung up, he glanced down at Vivian in his arms. โBabe, it seems youโre not just wild. Youโre my lucky star, too.โ
โIf thatโs the case, Mr. Arthur Hawthorne,โ Vivian said, โshould we still proceed with Eclipse Nightclub? After all, Claire is small fry compared to whatโs happening with these riots.โ
She lifted her head, a sultry smile playing on her lips, as she traced circles on his chest with a delicate finger.
Arthur chuckled, โOf course. For someone you want to destroy, the more chaos, the better. Let the storm rage on.โ
