Chapter
On the first day, when Isabella sent a photo of Jonathan peeling shrimp for her, Anna prepared a brazier and burned every photo she had of Jonathan.
On the second day, when Isabella sent a photo of Jonathan kissing her, Anna had workers come to the villa's backyard and tear down the cherry tree.
On the third day, when Isabella sent a collection of Jonathan's confession quotes from her livestream, Anna looked through the hundreds of love letters Jonathan had written her in the past. The letters had yellowed with time, but the handwriting was still clear. She traced her fingers over the words, then, without a shred of pity, fed them one by one into a shredder.
On the morning of the fourth day, Anna opened her eyes to see Jonathan, who had been absent for a long time, standing by her bed. He held her phone in his hand. When he saw she had woken up, his expression darkened slightly.
"Anna," he said, "I just got a message on your phone saying your account has been successfully canceled. What were you canceling?"
Anna's heart skipped a beat. She quickly grabbed her phone and unlocked the screen. It was a message confirming the cancellation of her identity. Luckily, her phone was password-protected, and Jonathan had only seen a few words on the screen.
Anna sighed with relief and casually said, "It's nothing. One of my social media accounts was hacked, so I deactivated it."
Jonathan seemed to relax upon hearing this. He pulled her into his arms, saying gently, "Honey, guess what I bought for you today?"
Anna paused for a moment before answering softly, "The line cakes from the east side of the city."
"How did you know?" Jonathan asked, his eyes filled with surprise.
How could she not know? Back when they were dating, whenever Jonathan made her angry, he would run all the way to the east side of the city to buy her those little cakes. The sweet scent would immediately soften her heart. She didn't care about the journey; only the taste mattered. At that time, he had laughed and said, "My Anna is easy to please!" as an apology.
