Chapter 158

Sophia handed the documents to Miranda, who skimmed through them. After confirming they were the originals, Miranda exchanged them for her copies. Sophia sighed in relief. "I'm really sorry," she said. "This is my first villa sale, and I'm still learning. I didn't mean to waste your time."

"Don't worry about it," Miranda replied smoothly.

Jenny watched, eyes wide. Although she understood the words, she was lost. "What agreement did you just mention?" she asked, pointing to the papers in Sophia's hand.

"The property purchase agreement," Sophia explained.

"For who?"

"Ms. Sutton, of course. This is the property she bought."

Jenny swayed, nearly losing her balance. "You mean her? Miranda? She bought a house here?"

"Of course," Sophia replied, puzzled by Jenny's reaction and questions.

Jenny's eyes widened. "How is that possible? Which unit did she buy? Building 19 or 20? Which floor? What's the layout? How big is it?"

"Ma'am, you're mistaken. Buildings 19 and 20 are high-rise apartments. Ms. Sutton purchased a villa."

"What? Aa villa?" Jenny exclaimed. "They bought a villa? Lakeview Villa? Howhow can that be?"

Miranda sighed. "Aunt Jenny, maybe I'm as useless as you think. I'm in my thirties and still don't have a job, so buying my parents a villa is the least I can do to show respect. I hope they enjoy it and it eases your worries. Don't you agree?"

Jenny was speechless.

"We still need to set up the new house, so we won't keep you and Harold," Mindy said with a faint smile.

Just then, a sales agent approached Harold and Jenny. "Hey, weren't you going to the restroom? How did you end up here? This is the VIP loungeyou two sure know how to pick a spot"

Harold nudged Jenny, who was still dazed. He apologized. "Sorry, we didn't know"

The sales agent continued, "Have you decided whose name will be on the property deed? Jake Sullivan or Hannah Brooks? Once you decide, have them bring their IDs so we can sign the agreement. Otherwise, we can't proceed."

The sales agent scoffed internally. Seriously? They didn't even know this basic information and wasted my whole morning. Meanwhile, Sophia had sold a villa, and she hadn't closed a single deal. Comparing yourself to others is maddening. That villa was worth five million dollars! The commission alone would be in the tens of thousands—I'm so envious I could cry!

Miranda and Mindy exchanged a glance. Jake Sullivan and Hannah Brooks? Aren't those Jenny's parents' names?

"Oh, so you're buying a house for Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan?" Mindy asked, smiling. "This development is perfect for retirement."

"Of course not," Jenny replied. "The house will be in my parents' names. We'll be living there!"

"In that case, you should put your names on it, or maybe Quincey's. It would be more convenient."

"Exactly!" The sales agent chimed in, eager to close the deal. "Since you'll be living there, use your own names! I fought to secure this unit for you out of respect for my classmate, Quincey. Otherwise, it would have been snatched up. If you wait, I can't guarantee its availability. We sell out as soon as a unit goes on the market."

"Please, no" Jenny panicked. "We want to buy it! We definitely want to buy it!"

"Great. Show me your IDs, and we can sign the contract now."
