Chapter 63
"Come over," Hansel replied.
On the other end, Ingrid nearly leaped for joy under the covers. She had repeatedly tried to test Hansel, even using subtle seduction, but he'd never responded. She expected the same this time, so his sudden agreement was a shock.
She quickly got dressed and left. One roommate, still awake, noticed. "Ingy, where are you going so late?"
Another roommate, engrossed in a video game, teased, "Oh, you wouldn't understand. Nighttime is prime time for couples! Only our campus belle's rich and handsome boyfriend could inspire this much enthusiasm!"
Ingrid's cheeks flushed crimson. Hansel's previous reluctance had made her feel insecure; she'd worried he might pull away at any moment. If they slept together this time… she would be his.
While getting dressed, she carefully chose a matching lingerie set. She took a cab to the mansion. Before she could knock, the door opened, and Hansel's strong arms pulled her inside forcefully.
The next second, he pinned her against the wall and kissed her passionately. Stunned for a moment, she hesitantly responded, her inexperience evident. He carried her to the living room, pushed her onto the couch, and immediately pressed his body against hers.
Overwhelmed by his urgency, Ingrid arched her neck. His kisses trailed down her neck and beyond. His hands expertly removed her top and caressed her body. Her heart pounded, her breath quickened with desire. She eagerly awaited his next move.
But he abruptly stopped when his hand reached her black bra. "What what's wrong?" she asked, bewildered.
He got off her, sitting on the couch. "I'm sorry. Just go."
Still flushed with passion, Ingrid was stunned. A chill washed over her. "Hans, did I do something wrong?"
She reached for him, but he grasped her wrist. He gave her a cold look. "I don't like repeating myself."
Frustrated, Ingrid sat up, saying nothing. His expression softened slightly, and he helped her straighten her clothes. "It's late. I'll have Dan send you home," he said gently.
Dan arrived shortly afterward. From the moment he stopped, Hansel had remained turned away, silent as she prepared to leave. Ingrid bit her lip and finally departed after Dan urged her.
Hansel lit a cigarette, watching the smoke curl upward. Miranda's face flashed in his mind. He closed his eyes and called Zach. "Where are you?"
Zach was with a woman, about to make a move, when Hansel called. He hushed the woman before answering. "What's up? Insomnia?"
"Find me a woman," Hansel ordered. "To relieve my desire."
Zach was perplexed. "Huh?" Hansel had just reconciled with Miranda. Why was he still seeing other women?
