Listen to this chapter:

Upon hearing the noise, Calvin went to welcome Hansel into the room. However, he immediately saw Hansel with Ingrid.

"Wait a minute!" Calvin sucked in a breath.

Hansel said calmly, "Hey, Cal."

"Hans, you're here. Come sit" Calvin quickly poured Hansel a glass and served him some fruit.

Later that night, while Ingrid was in the bathroom, Calvin couldn't help asking, "Hans, what's going on? Didn't you break up with her? Why did you bring her here?"

After two glasses of something, Hansel's gaze was slightly glassy. "She's still young. I'll take my time. It might be too sudden for her to accept."

Calvin cringed. Seriously? Were college students considered young? Hansel was seriously gullible!

"Well what about Miranda? Don't you want her back anymore?" If that were true, Sam wouldn't be celebrating.

At the mention of Miranda, Hansel's heart squeezed. "Who said so?"

Calvin's gaze shifted toward Ingrid. "Isn't this two-timing?"

"I'm not in a rush. Once I've settled things with Ingrid, I'll try my best to make things up to Mimi."

Calvin opened his mouth to tell Hansel that time wouldn't wait. Once he was done, Miranda might already be with someone else. However, seeing Hansel's assured face, Calvin chose to remain silent.

The party ended around dawn. Calvin, half-drunk, forced himself to sign the bill. Club staff helped him to his car, and a designated driver promised to get him home safely.

Zach fared much better. He hadn't drunk much but had smoked several cigarettes, leaving him smelling strongly of them. He'd extended his stay at a nearby five-star hotel suite.

Only Hansel and Ingrid remained. They stood by the roadside, waiting for their designated driver. Ingrid tentatively held Hansel's muscular arm, pressing close to him. "Dear, it's so late. Shall we go straight back to your villa?" (Meaning: she wanted to stay the night.)

Hansel remained silent. After a pause, he said, "You have class tomorrow. I think it would be better if I sent you back to your dorm."

Ingrid's mouth tightened. Disappointment flashed in her eyes, but she said, "Alright, if you say so."

Hansel's expression relaxed slightly. After dropping Ingrid off outside the National University of Technology and watching her enter, he looked away calmly.

"Where should we go now, sir?" the driver asked.

Hansel looked out the window, then opened the car door. "Drive my car home. I'll just hang around in this area."

He found himself outside Bedford College. He remembered courting Miranda there, sometimes seeing her after a short wait, sometimes waiting much longer without success. He'd never found it troublesome.

Crossing dark alleyways, he reached Miranda's apartment building. Without hesitation, he went upstairs. The path was dark, littered with beer bottles and garbage. Overpowering stench accompanied him to her door.

"Mimi, it's me."
