Chapter 95

Winter put on her sunglasses as she spoke, imitating Miranda by taking a sip of coconut water. She smiled contentedly.

Miranda crossed her slender legs and turned. “I thought you were on a date.”

Winter’s lips curled in disdain. “That blonde guy was so muscular; I thought he’d be good. Turns out he was the opposite. Even my current boyfriend is much better.”

Amused, Miranda asked, “Are you talking about Kevin, the one I met?”

“Oh, he’s history. My new boyfriend is bright, adorable, and smells good. More importantly, he’s a skilled cook!”

Winter peered at Miranda through her sunglasses. Jokingly, she teased, “What about you? Aren’t you going to start another relationship?”

“Wasn’t it boring to revolve around the same guy? Dating different people is much more interesting!” Miranda stared at the ocean. “No. I don’t have the time or energy. It’s unnecessary.”

“That’s true,” Winter smacked her lips. “Men will only hinder your studies.”

She stretched, her gaze drifting elsewhere. “Well… I saw a hot blue-eyed guy. I’m going to chat him up. Enjoy yourself! Bye!”

Miranda raised her glass. “Enjoy yourself.”

Hansel stood before the floor-to-ceiling window in his office. His sharp gaze fell on Joe. “Have you looked into it? You can’t be making another mistake, can you?”

Joe was nervous. “I’m sorry, Mr. Johnson. I was careless last time. I did a thorough check and found Ms. Sutton went to Marvedis, not Hashtown.”

“Are you sure?”

“Here are her flight details. Ms. Sutton’s name is on the passenger list.”

Hansel didn’t examine them; he was sure they had the right location this time. Joe wasn’t entirely to blame. After all, who would have thought Sam would stoop so low as to exchange Miranda’s information with another passenger’s? He misled Hansel’s men, who then gave him the wrong information.

Hansel said, “Book me the earliest flight there.”

Joe checked his phone. “Mr. Johnson, the earliest flight is at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow.”

“That will do.”

“Alright. If that’s all, I’ll take my leave,” Hansel said, waving him off.

Joe turned to leave, carefully closing the door.

“Mr. Levine, why are you sweating? Did Mr. Johnson yell at you?” Annie Lexton asked.

Joe waved. “Don’t remind me. Oh, right. Book Mr. Johnson a 7:00 a.m. flight tomorrow to Marvedis. I’m late and need to go.”

“Sure. Don’t worry. Go ahead to Tara’s parent-teacher meeting. Leave this to me!”

Joe chuckled. “You’ve only been working a few days. Don’t be overconfident; you’ll regret it.”

“Don’t worry. I just have to book a flight; nothing can go wrong, right? You’re underestimating me.”

“Alright, hurry up. I have to go. If I’m late, Tara will nag me for weeks…”

Annie immediately took out her work phone to book the flight. The passenger details were already linked. When she checked out, it showed she was buying two tickets.

Annie’s first reaction was to call Joe to clarify whether to buy a ticket for Hansel only or for Ingrid as well. However, the call went straight to voicemail.

She dared not approach Hansel. Besides, judging by Joe’s tone, the ticket was urgently needed. After consideration, she decided to buy two.

She had a reason: Hansel couldn’t be going to Marvedis for business, right? If it was a vacation, he must be bringing his girlfriend. Getting two tickets seemed right!
