Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 11: You Must Apologize
Hayleyโs POV
Returning to the villa, I finally relaxed. So much had happened that I hadnโt even had time to react. Earlier, in the car, I tried to catch a glimpse of Benjaminโs expression through the rearview mirror. As it was dark inside, I couldnโt see it.
On the ride home, I kept wondering why Benjamin had suddenly intervened. Given his usual demeanor, he would typically be a bystander. Could it be that he was a good man who didnโt judge me by my appearance?
I soon pushed those thoughts aside. After changing out of my dress, I deliberately put on a set of tacky pajamas and headed to Benjaminโs study. There was a stack of documents and a few scattered photos on his desk.
โHere is your jacket. Thanks for your help earlier,โ I said sincerely.
Benjamin glanced at me and replied coldly, โYou donโt need to return it.โ
I bit my lip. โIf you think itโs dirty, I can send it to the laundry.โ
He kept his attention on his work and emphasized coldly, โI donโt want it anymore.โ
Was he disgusted by what I wore? His attitude annoyed me. โIf you donโt want it, Iโll throw it away.โ
With that, I tossed the jacket into the trash can. Then, I looked at Benjamin to see his reaction. He stayed focused on his work and didnโt say a word.
His lack of reaction dampened my mood. I had planned to clean the jacket and thank him properly, but it seemed my gesture was unwelcome.
As I turned to leave, I found Henry standing at the door motionlessly. โPlease give way,โ I said impatiently.
Henry noticed the jacket in the trash can and angrily asked, โDid you throw this?โ
Faced with his unreasonable accusation, I replied, โYesโโ
But he instantly erupted in anger. โYou tacky, ugly Omega! You imitated Maddieโs dressing style, didnโt you? Hah, donโt make me laugh! Donโt you know youโre ugly? Itโs useless even if you wear the best clothes! Ben rescued you, but you threw his jacket! Do you realize how much it costs? You must pay for it!โ
After everything that had happened today, I was too tired to argue, but his insults pushed me to my limit. I pushed him aside, grabbed a stack of checks from my room, and handed one to him. โTake it! It should be enough.โ
Henry examined the check closely. โIs this check real?โ
Henry smirked, seeming to have figured something out. โYouโre just a low-ranking Omega from the desolate Dow Pack. You donโt need to pay, but you must apologize to Ben! Weโve been holding back because you were invited by our grandpa as a special guest. But Ben is the next Alpha in line to inherit the pack. You need to show him respect and obey those of us who outrank you! From now on, bow and follow our commands whenever you see us!โ
Nobody had ever dared to talk to me, an Alpha, like this. At another time, I would have let Hera teach him a lesson. But now, my identity was an Omega. I had to control my anger and shot him a cold look. โI did nothing wrong. Why should I apologize?โ
Henry yelled, โHayley Carson, you must apologize to Ben!โ
He instantly transformed into a fierce black wolf, baring his sharp fangs and roaring at me.
Meanwhile, George, the Alpha of the Midnight Pack, was alerted and came out of his room. โApologize? Apologize for what?โ
George and my grandpa were friends, so I didnโt want to escalate the situation. I tried to cover it up. โItโs nothing. Just a misunderstanding.โ
But Henry thought I was backing down and quickly complained to George, โGrandpa, this ugly Omega threw Benโs jacket into the trash! I just wanted her to apologize, but she refuses!โ
โSpeak properly!โ George hit him fiercely.
Henry groaned in pain and turned to glare at me. I wasnโt afraid of him since I did nothing wrong, so I glared back.
โHayley, what is going on?โ George asked gently.
