Chapter 112: Sense My True Identity

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

On the evening of my birthday, the Alpha werewolvesโ€™ powers would surge beyond normal limits. Would he be able to sense my true identity through the faint scents I hadnโ€™t managed to disguise completely?

However, with my flight approaching, there was no time for deep thoughts. I rushed to the airport restroom, quickly changing into my old, plain clothes. I checked my reflection in the mirror several times, ensuring I blended in before stepping out.

Before heading back to the Southwells, I collected a package containing Harmonyโ€™s album along with gifts my grandparents had prepared for the Southwells family.

Upon returning to the Southwells residence, I announced my arrival, โ€œGrandpa Southwell, Iโ€™m back!โ€ as I entered with my arms loaded with bags. A servant hurried to assist me.

Grandpa Southwell looked up from his newspaper, his face lighting up with a warm smile. โ€œHayz! Itโ€™s so wonderful to see you. I missed you while you were away.โ€

I dashed over to him. โ€œI missed you too, Grandpa Southwell! I brought you something from home, and my grandparents sent your favorite coffee beans.โ€

He nodded enthusiastically. โ€œThatโ€™s fantastic! How was your time at home, Hayz?โ€

I shyly stuck out my tongue. โ€œIt was alright.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s good to hear! You must be tired after such a long trip. You should go upstairs and rest. Iโ€™ll have the staff notify you when dinner is ready.โ€

I did feel quite exhausted; the lengthy flight had drained me, and I was barely holding it together. โ€œOkay, Grandpa Southwell. Iโ€™ll head upstairs now.โ€

With that, I made my way up, stopping first at Irvingโ€™s room. I knocked on the door, and after a brief moment, it swung open. When Irving saw me, his eyes lit up with excitement. โ€œHayley, youโ€™re back?โ€

I nodded, handing him one of the albums I had brought. โ€œThis is a special edition of Harmonyโ€™s album from my collection. Itโ€™s a gift for you.โ€

Irvingโ€™s enthusiasm was infectious. โ€œYou actually have this album? Itโ€™s so rare! Iโ€™ve looked everywhere for it!โ€

Feeling a bit shy, I scratched my head. โ€œIโ€™m glad you like it. Iโ€™ll go back to my room now.โ€

But Irving called out to me, โ€œWait, Hayley.โ€

I turned back, intrigued.

โ€œSince you gave me such a valuable album, Iโ€™d love to take you out for dinner sometime. How does that sound?โ€

I was tempted to decline, but seeing his eager expression made me reconsider. A simple meal couldnโ€™t hurt.

Irvingโ€™s face lit up. โ€œGreat! Iโ€™ll pick you up from school,โ€

I didnโ€™t think much of it as I nodded and returned to my room.

Once inside, I quickly took photos of the albums and sent them to Christine.

I wrote, โ€œHey babe, I have a surprise for you. Want to guess what it is?โ€

Christine replied, โ€œWhat kind of surprise?โ€

Her casual response changed when I sent the photos. She was left speechless.

Christine wrote, โ€œOh, my gosh! This is my idolโ€™s album! How did you get so many? Iโ€™m so jealous!โ€

Christine followed up. โ€œWait, wait, wait. You said you had a gift for me. This isnโ€™t it, right? I love you so much right now!โ€

Christine continued, โ€œAre you back at Midnight Pack? Just wait! Iโ€™m coming over right away!โ€

I shook my head, exasperated by Christineโ€™s enthusiasm.

I wrote, โ€œCould you tone it down a little?โ€

Christine wrote back, โ€œNope! Just wait for me!โ€

I responded with a simple โ€œOkay,โ€ before grabbing some clothes and heading to the bathroom for a shower.

I thought Christine would take at least an hour to drive over, but as soon as I stepped out of the shower, she was already there. It seemed she must have transformed into a wolf and sprinted over.

โ€œAh! Babe! My Harmony!โ€ Christine exclaimed, wrapping her arms around the albums and covering them with kisses. I couldnโ€™t help but roll my eyes at her excitement. โ€œTheyโ€™re just a few albums; is it really that big of a deal?โ€

She insisted, โ€œYou donโ€™t understand! These are albums Iโ€™ve dreamed about for so long. Iโ€™ve spent countless nights trying to get them. Now that I actually have them, it feels unreal! Hayley, how did you manage to collect so many limited editions?โ€

I felt a bit awkward. โ€œI just picked some up while I was out; I didnโ€™t think theyโ€™d be so useful.โ€

Christine clearly didnโ€™t buy my explanation. โ€œHayley, you must have struck gold! Thereโ€™s no way you found this many at once. Theyโ€™re not fake, are they?โ€ She flipped one of the albums over. The authentic albums had a gold line along the opening that glimmered in the light, showing different colorsโ€”something the fakes couldnโ€™t replicate.

After inspecting it, Christine gasped. โ€œTheyโ€™re all real! Iโ€™m so lucky!โ€

I chuckled. โ€œWatch the drool; youโ€™re going to ruin the albums.โ€

Christine ignored my comment. โ€œThank you, babe! Giving me all these limited edition Harmony albums makes you my idol!โ€

I laughed. โ€œYouโ€™re so easily impressed; I canโ€™t believe a few albums won you over.โ€

She grinned. โ€œWell, who wouldnโ€™t be? Harmony has been my idol for years. Iโ€™m telling you, if I ever get to meet herโ€ฆโ€

โ€œWhat would you do?โ€ I asked, intrigued.

Christine replied earnestly, โ€œIโ€™d definitely ask her for a hug.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s it? Thatโ€™s your simple wish?โ€

She continued, โ€œJust a hug would be more than enough! As a fan, receiving a hug from my idol would be the most amazing experience ever. I hope that day arrives.โ€

I looked at her and assured her, โ€œDonโ€™t worry; it will happen.โ€

Christine thought I was just trying to make her feel better, brushing it off with a smile. โ€œI will meet my idol one day.โ€

The following day, I went to school as usual. Irving was my ride, and just as we arrived, he called out to me before I could get out of the car. โ€œIโ€™ll pick you up after school. Letโ€™s go have dinner together.โ€

I started to ask why, but Irving quickly added, โ€œYou promised to have dinner with me. I hope you wonโ€™t refuse me.โ€

With him saying it like that, I couldnโ€™t say no. โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll see you this afternoon.โ€

I waved at Irving as I walked toward the school building.

โ€œHayley!โ€

Suddenly, I heard someone calling my name from a distance. I turned around to seeโ€ฆ
