Chapter 203: Grandpa and Grandma Are Here

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

โ€œWhat are the conditions?โ€ Henry asked, looking at me with confusion.

To make it to the Presidentโ€™s List again, Iโ€™ll stay up all night playing games with you,โ€ I replied.

Henryโ€™s eyes widened. โ€œBoss, are you serious?โ€

I smiled and nodded. โ€œYes, Iโ€™m serious.โ€

Henry immediately jumped up, excited. โ€œBoss, wait for me! Iโ€™m definitely going to make it onto the Presidentโ€™s List again! And donโ€™t forget your promise to stay up all night playing games with me!โ€

I nodded again. โ€œDonโ€™t worry, I wonโ€™t forget.โ€

With that assurance, Henry put down his game and left, brimming with confidence. I had no idea what he was preparing.

After a long day of classes, I returned to the Southwell residence. But as soon as I stepped inside, I noticed that the house was unusually lively. I never expected that my grandparents had arrived.

In the living room, George was welcoming Bill and Dorothy Carson.

โ€œYou two have traveled a long way; it wasnโ€™t easy for you. This time, make sure to stay with us for a while before you head back.โ€

Bill smiled radiantly and said, โ€œGeorge, when I sent my granddaughter here, you promised me that youโ€™d make sure to match the kids and make them each otherโ€™s mate.โ€

He raised an eyebrow. โ€œItโ€™s been over half a year now. Not a single update?โ€

โ€œWeโ€™ve been waiting for the good news of their engagement and strengthening the bond between our packs.โ€

George smacked his head. He said, โ€œBill, you canโ€™t rush their feelings, but I donโ€™t think these two are entirely indifferent to each other. They just need a little push, and that might get them to take the next step.โ€

Before he could finish, a servant entered and reported, โ€œMs. Carson is back.โ€

Immediately, the trio exchanged glances, their minds as clear as day.

โ€œHayz is back. We need to carefully find out whatโ€™s going on,โ€ Bill whispered.

Dorothy quickly chimed in, โ€œLetโ€™s make sure we respect Hayzโ€™s decision and not interfere too much.โ€

Bill patted her hand reassuringly. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. As long as Hayz is happy, Iโ€™ll support her; her grandfather. I wonโ€™t make things difficult for her.โ€

Dorothy seemed to relax. Across from them, George added, โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ve been keeping an eye on the kids. Iโ€™m just as eager as you, but thereโ€™s nothing we can do.โ€

At that moment, I walked in and was immediately surprised to see my grandparents. My eyes lit up, and I asked, โ€œGrandpa and Grandma, what brings you here?โ€

I rushed forward and threw myself into Grandmaโ€™s arms. โ€œGrandma, I missed you so much!โ€

Grandma gently stroked my face; her eyes had welled. โ€œOh, My Hayz.โ€

Grandpa feigned a solemn manner and asked, โ€œHayz, are you adjusting well to life in the Midnight Pack?โ€

I nodded eagerly and said, โ€œEverythingโ€™s fine here.โ€

Their worried expressions softened with my assurance.

We chatted for a while. A servant came in to report to George, โ€œOld Mr. Southwell, your grandchildren are back.โ€

Benjamin, followed by Christopher, Henry, and Tanner, entered the room. George motioned for them to greet my grandparents.

โ€œHere they are. This is Bill and Dorothy.โ€

All the brothers called out in unison, โ€œGreetings, Bill and Dorothy.โ€

Grandpa and Grandma scanned each of them in turn, finally settling their gaze on Benjamin.

โ€œTheyโ€™re all good kids, George! Each of your grandsons is more impressive than the last.โ€

โ€œEspecially Benjamin, whoโ€™s now the alpha. Heโ€™s managing the Midnight Pack really well.โ€

George laughed and said, โ€œDonโ€™t flatter them. Compared to Hayz, theyโ€™re nothing.โ€

โ€œBill and Dorothy, since youโ€™ve come all this way, letโ€™s all have a good time tonight.โ€ George led us all to the dining room.

The two families gathered together for a lively dinner.

Grandpa looked at me before turning to George. He said, โ€œActually, we came to take Hayz back with us.โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s been here for a while now, and we didnโ€™t want to overstay our welcome.โ€

I wasnโ€™t expecting this. My heart sank.

Across from me, the Southwell brothers exchanged looks.

Henry glanced at me and immediately asked, โ€œMy boss leaving so soon?โ€
