Chapter 219: Hit by Christopher

Christineโ€™s POV:

I quickly tried to regain my composure, forcing a smile as I said, โ€œSorry, itโ€™s just a habit.โ€ As soon as the words left my mouth, I wished I could bite my own tongue. What did I mean by habit? Didnโ€™t that clearly show I had already been fantasizing about him?

โ€œChristopher, what are you doing here?โ€ I asked, curiosity bubbling up inside me.

He walked toward me, his steps calm but deliberate, and asked, โ€œAre you feeling better?โ€

Christopher is worried about me? I could hardly contain my happiness. Even though I was still hooked up to an IV, I felt like this was the happiest moment of my life.

โ€œIโ€™m fine, just some minor bruises,โ€ I replied, and only then did I realizeโ€”how did Christopher even know I was hurt? Not only did he not mind that I was an Omega, but he was genuinely worried about me. We had only met at school before, and I had been in one of his music videos. Did Christopher actually remember me?

Christopher looked at me and said, โ€œIโ€™m glad youโ€™re okay. Iโ€™m sorry, I wasnโ€™t paying attention while driving and accidentally hit you.โ€

โ€œIf you need compensation, just let my assistant know the amount.โ€

I was stunned. I had been hit by Christopher? What kind of crazy luck is that?

โ€œIโ€™m fine, Christopher; donโ€™t worry about it. Iโ€™m sure it wasnโ€™t intentional. Thereโ€™s no need for compensation,โ€ I said with a warm, gracious smile.

After hearing this, Christopher was silent for a moment, his brow furrowing as he insisted, โ€œYou donโ€™t have to do this. Hitting you was my fault. If you need anything, just let me know.โ€

Seeing how serious and earnest he was, I couldnโ€™t help but laugh. โ€œReally, Iโ€™m fine. Besides, Iโ€™m not trying to scam you.โ€

โ€œChristopher, donโ€™t take it to heart. If you still feel bad, how about I add you on WhatsApp? I can message you if anything comes up.โ€

Christopher thought for a moment, then pulled out his phone and added me on WhatsApp. As soon as we finished adding each other, his phone rang. I glanced at the screen. The caller ID was Hayley.

โ€œChristopher, Hayley is calling you,โ€ I pointed out.

Chapter 219: Hit by Christopher

Christopher swiftly put his phone away, focusing his gaze on me. โ€œDid you tell her about what happened? About me hitting you?โ€

I shook my head and said, โ€œNo, I just found out it was you who hit me. I havenโ€™t told Hayley. I assume sheโ€™s calling you about something else?โ€

Christopher grunted and said, โ€œAlright, rest well. If you need anything, let my manager know.โ€ With that, Christopher answered the call and left the room.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

โ€œIs something wrong?โ€ I heard Christopherโ€™s voice through the receiver, so I got straight to the point. โ€œWhere are you right now?โ€

There was a brief pause before he responded, โ€œIโ€™m at the hospital.โ€

I was taken aback. โ€œAre you sick?โ€

Christopher quickly denied it. โ€œNo, Iโ€™m here to visit a friend.โ€

Since he wasnโ€™t going to explain further, I didnโ€™t press the issue. Instead, I said, โ€œDo you have time tonight? I need a favor.โ€

Christopher said directly, โ€œYou can just tell me over the phone. I have two appearances tonight, so Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™ll have time.โ€

Hearing that, my last hope evaporated. โ€œWell, forget it. Iโ€™ll figure something else out,โ€ I said, ending the call.

Thomas quickly asked, โ€œHow did it go? Did he agree?โ€

I shook my head and said, โ€œHeโ€™s busy tonight. Itโ€™s not going to happen.โ€

Thomas shrugged nonchalantly and suggested, โ€œThen maybe someone else would be better. Benjamin would be more suitable. Have you considered him?โ€

Should I choose Benjamin instead? I looked at Thomas, slowly considering the idea.
