Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 22: The Search

โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€ My heart pounded as I stared at him, eyes wide.

Benjaminโ€™s gaze darkened, his expression growing more intense and dangerous. But before I could react, he stepped back, his voice cold. โ€œYou Omegas really donโ€™t know how to prioritize. With your weak werewolf constitution, if you let that wound fester, itโ€™ll get infected.โ€

His words were harsh but logical. I couldnโ€™t reveal my true Alpha nature and heal the wound myself under his watchful eyes. So, I obediently extended my hand.

Benjamin cut away the fabric around my wound with scissors, staring at my skin for several seconds. Then, he looked at my face, his expression thoughtful. Could he see the difference between the skin on my face and body? Panic flickered inside me.

Fortunately, he didnโ€™t ask any questions and continued tending to my wound. The pain was intense as he touched it, and I turned my head, gritting my teeth to keep from making a sound.

Benjamin noticed my reaction and deliberately gentled his touch. โ€œThere, rest up. And try to stay indoors for a while.โ€

His sudden advice puzzled me.

โ€œYou messed up Christopherโ€™s fan meeting. His fans wonโ€™t let you off easily,โ€ he explained.

โ€œWhat kind of logic is that? I saved their idol, and now they want to come after me?โ€ I couldnโ€™t understand those fanaticsโ€™ reasoning.

โ€œFor now, just stay in the hospital,โ€ Benjamin said, clearly not wanting to discuss it further. โ€œIf you need anything, tell me or Henry.โ€

Thinking back on what had happened, I felt a shiver run down my spine. Staying at the hospital seemed like a good idea, avoiding any involvement with the Naj family. โ€œAlrightโ€ฆ fine.โ€

So, I stayed in the VIP hospital room Benjamin arranged for me. Every day, I woke up to the smell of disinfectant. I had never hated hospitals this much.

If I didnโ€™t have to pretend to be an Omega, I would have let my wolf, Hera, out and wouldnโ€™t have gotten injured and ended up here in the first place. I wished this year would pass quickly, so I could return to the Shadow Packโ€ฆ

I was lost in thought when the door to my hospital room swung open, revealing a woman with a striking figure. Her thick, golden waves of hair cascaded over her shoulders. With long eyelashes, alluring eyes, and sensuous, full lips, she exuded an air of irresistible charm.

It was my aunt, the Hollywood superstar, Ivana Carson.

โ€œAuntie, what are you doing here?โ€ I exclaimed, thrilled to see her.

She frowned at me for a moment before speaking hesitantly, โ€œHayz?โ€

I realized my disguise had thrown her off, so I quickly explained the reasons behind it.

โ€œI understand the gist of it,โ€ she nodded.

โ€œBy the way, Auntie, how did you know I was injured?โ€ I was astonished the news had reached abroad.

โ€œYour grandfather told me. He wanted me to come back and check on you to put his mind at ease.โ€

โ€œGrandpaโ€ฆ I havenโ€™t seen him in so long. How is he?โ€ I murmured.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, heโ€™s in great health,โ€ she said, poking my forehead gently. โ€œBut you, youโ€™re an Alpha, and you ended up getting hurt and landing in the hospital. Even if youโ€™re pretending to be an Omega, you have to protect yourself first. Donโ€™t put yourself in danger.โ€

I hugged her, pouting. โ€œI know, Auntie.โ€

โ€œOh, Hayz, among the five grandsons of the Midnight Packโ€™s Alpha, have you fallen for any of them? According to family tradition, one of them is destined to be your mate!โ€

I scoffed, โ€œAuntie, I havenโ€™t fallen for any of them yet. I donโ€™t believe Iโ€™ll find my destined mate among those fiveโ€ฆโ€

โ€œWell, when you turn eighteen in a few monthsโ€ฆโ€

We were in the middle of our discussion when there was a sudden knock on the doorโ€ฆ
