Chapter 305: The Engaged Couple

Christopherโ€™s POV:

Henry didnโ€™t answer my question. Instead, he invited me. โ€œWhy donโ€™t you join us tonight and have some fun?โ€

I wasnโ€™t really interested at first, but seeing how eager Henry was piqued my curiosity, so I agreed. โ€œSure, Iโ€™ll join you guys later.โ€ I said it casually, not really thinking much about it.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

After the engagement party, I changed out of my dress and handed it to Teri. With a respectful nod, Teri said, โ€œMs. Carson, Iโ€™ll take this dress to the dry cleaners first, then hang it up in the design studio as per the bossโ€™s instructions. If you ever need it, you can simply come by the studio to pick it up.โ€

I nodded and thanked her. โ€œGot it. Thank you.โ€

Teri spoke earnestly, โ€œMs. Carson, I should be the one thanking you. If it werenโ€™t for your guidance, I probably still wouldnโ€™t have the courage to show my work to others. You not only pointed out my mistakes but also gave me clear direction, so I should be thanking you.โ€

โ€œYour designs have a lot of potential. Keep working hard,โ€ I encouraged her. My words seemed to boost Teriโ€™s confidence. โ€œI will, Ms. Carson. Iโ€™ll keep working hard.โ€

After Teri left, I let out a sigh of relief. The engagement party was finally over, and Benjamin and I were now officially fiancรฉs. Although I wasnโ€™t yet the official Luna of Midnight Pack, the guests clearly showed me much more respect than before. I couldnโ€™t help but wonder how they would react when I revealed my true identity as the Alpha of Shadow Pack.

I looked up at the mirror, staring at my face, as ugly and flawed as ever. I found myself torn, wondering if I should finally come clean to Benjamin about everything. Then I thought, my birthday was just a month away. Maybe Iโ€™d wait until then and tell him the truth.

The Southwellsโ€™ Residence was especially lively that evening. It seemed like everyone hadnโ€™t gathered together in a long time, and the atmosphere was buzzing with energy. Henry kept glancing at his watch and then towards the door. After what felt like an eternity, a sound finally came from outside. Henryโ€™s face lit up with excitement as heโ€ฆ

I looked at Henry, puzzled. โ€œDo you have something to tell me?โ€

With a helpless sigh, he complained, โ€œBoss, you really have a short memory. You promised youโ€™d play games with us tonight.โ€

Before I could respond, Benjamin, who had been standing behind me, suddenly asked, โ€œHayley, you play games too?โ€

Before I could say anything, Henry quickly jumped in. โ€œNot only does she play games, sheโ€™s really good at them!โ€

โ€œBen, do you know whoโ€™s been holding the top spot on our game leaderboard? Itโ€™s my boss!โ€

Benjamin looked at me in surprise. I cleared my throat, trying to cover up my embarrassment. โ€œThat was all in the past. I havenโ€™t played in ages, so Iโ€™m really out of practice now.โ€

But to my surprise, Benjamin didnโ€™t let it go and asked directly, โ€œAre you Joybringer?โ€

I could only nod in response. The moment I did, a look of surprise and excitement appeared in Benjaminโ€™s eyes. He seemed almost in disbelief.

Henry, on the other hand, immediately grabbed my arm. โ€œCome on, Boss. Iโ€™ve already invited KK and the others, and I called Christopher too. Letโ€™s play a couple of rounds with them.โ€

Henry pulled me upstairs, and by the time we entered the room, Christopher was already there, playing a few rounds on his phone. He looked up at us and calmly said, โ€œLetโ€™s start. Weโ€™ve been waiting long enough.โ€

Henry handed me a phone with a respectful gesture, and I sat down. Just as I was about to log into the game, Benjaminโ€ฆ
