Chapter 317: The Boss of Drakon Claw

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Thomas looked at me with a mix of shame and relief, his careful concealment of my Alpha identity unwavering. He simply called out, โ€œBoss!โ€

Seeing he was unharmed, the weight pressing on my chest finally lifted. โ€œIโ€™m glad youโ€™re okay,โ€ I reassured him.

I turned to the scarred man and said, โ€œIโ€™ve brought the money; itโ€™s in the car. Iโ€™ve seen the person I came for, and Iโ€™m taking him now.โ€

The scarred man burst into laughter. โ€œAs expected of Drakon Clawโ€™s boss. If you want to leave, thatโ€™s fine. However, only one of you can go.โ€

โ€œYou bastard!โ€ Thomasโ€™s anger boiled over. โ€œBoss, donโ€™t trust this asshole! Let our people charge in and wipe them out!โ€

I remained silent, my eyes locked on the scarred man as I weighed my options, then made a decision. โ€œThomas, you go,โ€ I commanded.

Thomas immediately protested. โ€œIโ€™m not leaving, Boss. If anyone goes, itโ€™s you.โ€

I growled, my voice low and commanding. โ€œI said, you go. Now. Right away. Thatโ€™s an order!โ€

Thomas wanted to protest, but after meeting the full force of my commanding gaze, he fell silent for a moment, then nodded. โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll go.โ€

Without another word, he turned and walked out without anyone stopping him.

Once Thomas was gone, the scarred man fixed his gaze on me again. โ€œImpressive. Youโ€™ve got guts. A woman with guts. No wonder youโ€™re the boss of Drakon Claw.โ€

I didnโ€™t have time to waste on his games. I fixed him with a cold, unwavering stare. โ€œSpeak. Which organization are you from? You think you can touch someone from Drakon Claw?โ€

The scarred man glared at me darkly, then slowly replied, โ€œThe organization doesnโ€™t matter. What matters is that I will kill you today.โ€

Then, he pulled a gun from his pocket and aimed it directly at my forehead. โ€œIf you have any last words, nowโ€™s the time. Iโ€™ll be sure to pass them on to your Drakon Claw members.โ€

I remained calm, staring down the barrel of the gun without a trace of fear. I had been through a lot. I never feared anything when I went through life and death with the members of the Drakon Claw or led the Shadow Packโ€™s beta warriors in battle. I was certainly not afraid now.

โ€œMany have tried to kill me, but none have succeeded. You wonโ€™t be the one to change that,โ€ I said calmly.

With that, he pulled the trigger, aiming at me. But in the split second before he could fire, I drew my own gun, aiming straight at him. I shot firstโ€”two quick, precise shots.

The air was sliced by the sharp crack of the bullets, and with two resounding โ€œpops,โ€ I stopped his bullets mid-flight. The scarred manโ€™s right hand was hit, and the gun dropped from his fingers, blood spilling onto the ground in an instant.

The scarred man stared at me in disbelief. โ€œH-how did you do that? This is impossible!โ€

I couldnโ€™t help but sneer inwardly. As an Alpha, my reflexes and speed were top-notchโ€”far beyond anything an outlaw wolf like him could match. But he would never get the chance to know that I was an Alpha. Not in this life.

โ€œI told you, many have tried to take my life, but not a single one has succeeded. You wonโ€™t be the exception,โ€ I said coldly, my gaze sharp with disdain.

The scarred man pressed his hand against the wound, frustration and anger seeping into his voice. โ€œYou should consider yourself lucky this is the underground world. If we shift into wolf form, youโ€™d never have the chance to fire that gun. As an Omega, youโ€™d be no match for me.โ€

โ€œI may not be able to kill you today, but mark my words, there will come a day when Iโ€™ll kill you myself!โ€

Seeing that he still dared to threaten me, I raised my gun once more, speaking slowly. โ€œOne thing about meโ€”I never leave loose ends.โ€

Before he could react, I fired three quick shots, each one hitting its target.
