Chapter 317: The Boss of Drakon Claw
Hayleyโs POV:
Thomas looked at me with a mix of shame and relief, his careful concealment of my Alpha identity unwavering. He simply called out, โBoss!โ
Seeing he was unharmed, the weight pressing on my chest finally lifted. โIโm glad youโre okay,โ I reassured him.
I turned to the scarred man and said, โIโve brought the money; itโs in the car. Iโve seen the person I came for, and Iโm taking him now.โ
The scarred man burst into laughter. โAs expected of Drakon Clawโs boss. If you want to leave, thatโs fine. However, only one of you can go.โ
โYou bastard!โ Thomasโs anger boiled over. โBoss, donโt trust this asshole! Let our people charge in and wipe them out!โ
I remained silent, my eyes locked on the scarred man as I weighed my options, then made a decision. โThomas, you go,โ I commanded.
Thomas immediately protested. โIโm not leaving, Boss. If anyone goes, itโs you.โ
I growled, my voice low and commanding. โI said, you go. Now. Right away. Thatโs an order!โ
Thomas wanted to protest, but after meeting the full force of my commanding gaze, he fell silent for a moment, then nodded. โFine, Iโll go.โ
Without another word, he turned and walked out without anyone stopping him.
Once Thomas was gone, the scarred man fixed his gaze on me again. โImpressive. Youโve got guts. A woman with guts. No wonder youโre the boss of Drakon Claw.โ
I didnโt have time to waste on his games. I fixed him with a cold, unwavering stare. โSpeak. Which organization are you from? You think you can touch someone from Drakon Claw?โ
The scarred man glared at me darkly, then slowly replied, โThe organization doesnโt matter. What matters is that I will kill you today.โ
Then, he pulled a gun from his pocket and aimed it directly at my forehead. โIf you have any last words, nowโs the time. Iโll be sure to pass them on to your Drakon Claw members.โ
I remained calm, staring down the barrel of the gun without a trace of fear. I had been through a lot. I never feared anything when I went through life and death with the members of the Drakon Claw or led the Shadow Packโs beta warriors in battle. I was certainly not afraid now.
โMany have tried to kill me, but none have succeeded. You wonโt be the one to change that,โ I said calmly.
With that, he pulled the trigger, aiming at me. But in the split second before he could fire, I drew my own gun, aiming straight at him. I shot firstโtwo quick, precise shots.
The air was sliced by the sharp crack of the bullets, and with two resounding โpops,โ I stopped his bullets mid-flight. The scarred manโs right hand was hit, and the gun dropped from his fingers, blood spilling onto the ground in an instant.
The scarred man stared at me in disbelief. โH-how did you do that? This is impossible!โ
I couldnโt help but sneer inwardly. As an Alpha, my reflexes and speed were top-notchโfar beyond anything an outlaw wolf like him could match. But he would never get the chance to know that I was an Alpha. Not in this life.
โI told you, many have tried to take my life, but not a single one has succeeded. You wonโt be the exception,โ I said coldly, my gaze sharp with disdain.
The scarred man pressed his hand against the wound, frustration and anger seeping into his voice. โYou should consider yourself lucky this is the underground world. If we shift into wolf form, youโd never have the chance to fire that gun. As an Omega, youโd be no match for me.โ
โI may not be able to kill you today, but mark my words, there will come a day when Iโll kill you myself!โ
Seeing that he still dared to threaten me, I raised my gun once more, speaking slowly. โOne thing about meโI never leave loose ends.โ
Before he could react, I fired three quick shots, each one hitting its target.
