Chapter 320
Belleโs POV:
I couldnโt understand what that ugly Hayley could possibly have that would attract a man like Alpha Benjamin, unless sheโs his destined mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess. But that was impossible. She was an Omega, completely unworthy of being Alpha Benjaminโs mate. It seemed my cousin was rightโHayley really was a flirt who loved to toy with men.
โSome people are just plain ugly, inside and out,โ I said to Hayley as soon as I walked into the classroom.
โBelle, who are you talking about? Did someone offend you?โ A curious classmate asked, looking concerned.
I lifted my head proudly, not naming names, but subtly implying, โWho else could it be? We all know whoโs the ugliest, the lowest rank, with the worst intentions, and the most skilled at seducing men, donโt we?โ
The others exchanged glances, their eyes deliberately shifting toward Hayley. Everyone knew that when it came to looks, Hayley ranked at the bottom of the class. I saw Hayley frown, but she didnโt say a word in response. I looked at her with disdain; typical Omega. Even if I bullied her, she didnโt have the guts to fight back.
โBelle, youโre not talking about our genius Hayley, are you?โ someone whispered to me.
I just smiled and said, โI was just speaking casually. As for who Iโm talking about, Iโm sure she knows deep down.โ
โAlright, Belle, donโt overthink it. Focus on your questions.โ
โYeah, I still have a test I didnโt finish yesterday. I need to get back to it.โ
With that, the two students returned to their seats. I glanced around the classroom, feeling the intense focus in the air. As someone who struggled academically, I felt completely out of place.
Hayleyโs POV:
Finally, the last class of the morning began, and I could feel a faint pain in my arm. There was also a damp sensation, like blood starting to seep through. It could still be bleeding, even if it hadnโt fully healed yet. What was going on? Was there an issue with my body or with Hera? I didnโt want to think about it too much. I got up and headed to the infirmary.
After retrieving fresh bandages, I quickly headed to the bathroom. I locked myself in a stall, removed the bandages, and revealed the blood-soaked wound. I gritted my teeth through the pain, applied the medicine, and bandaged the wound. It was difficult to manage with only one hand, so the bandaging was sloppy. I didnโt pay much attention to it. After finishing, I left the stall and headed to the classroom.
As Hayley stepped out of the stall, the next one opened. Belle walked out with a look of confusion on her face. She glanced at the blood-soaked bandages thrown in the trash and fell into deep thought.
Hayleyโs POV:
โThe next class is PE, and I heard itโs the last one for this semester. After this, all our PE classes will be replaced by advanced math.โ
โWhat? No way! That feels so suffocating!โ
โUgh, just hang in there. Only three more months until graduation. Letโs give it our all.โ
I listened to the chatter around me as my classmates stood up and headed toward the locker room to change.
โBoss, stop doing the questions. Itโs the last gym class of the semester. Letโs go together,โ Henry said as he walked over to me.
I thought about my injury and said, โI want to stay in the classroom and do some questions. Can you help me ask the teacher for permission to skip class?โ
Before Henry could respond, one of the classmates behind him reminded me, โThe gym teacher said the last class is a physical fitness test. Itโs part of the semester grade, so everyone has to attend. No excuses.โ
Seeing this, Henry immediately said, โIn that case, you should go, boss. You can do the questions later.โ
I bit my lip, thinking the fitness test would probably just be running or something. As long as I didnโt strain my injury, I should be fine.
โAlright, Iโll go change,โ I said with a sigh.
I headed to the locker room, opened my locker, and got out my clothes. Fortunately, the weather wasnโt too hot, and because everyone was wearing long-sleeve sportswear, I could easily hide my injury.
As soon as gym class began, the teacher instructed us to run three laps. With my physical fitness before, I could easily run not just three laps, but even 30 laps. But now, something was off. My stamina wasnโt what it should be, and I felt more like an Omega than an Alpha.
By the final lap, I was feeling terrible, but I gritted my teeth and persisted. Unexpectedly, after completing my cool-down exercises, my vision darkened, and I collapsed weakly to the ground.
โBoss!โ Henryโs panicked voice was the last thing I heard before everything went dark.
