Chapter 411: Investigation

Hayleyโ€™s POV

โ€œMs. Carson, is Alpha Benjamin here?โ€ Tyrone asked, holding a stack of documents as he looked at me.

I stepped aside and said, โ€œCome in.โ€

Tyrone walked in, his eyes widening in surprise when he saw Benjamin cleaning. After regaining his composure, Tyrone said to Benjamin respectfully, โ€œAlpha, Iโ€™ve brought all the documents. Once youโ€™ve reviewed them, Iโ€™ll come by to collect them.โ€

Benjamin replied calmly, โ€œJust leave them there.โ€

Tyrone quickly placed the documents on the coffee table, giving me a quick glance before stepping forward to help. โ€œAlpha, let me take care of the heavy work.โ€

Benjamin declined. โ€œNo need, I can handle it. Just leave the documents there, and if thereโ€™s nothing else, you can go back.โ€

Tyrone nodded repeatedly. โ€œUnderstood, Alpha.โ€

He turned to leave but suddenly seemed to remember something. โ€œBy the way, Alpha, about the matter you asked me to investigate last nightโ€ฆโ€

Tyrone paused, casting a wary glance at me. My instincts told me the matter had something to do with me, so I instinctively stepped back to give them some privacy.

โ€œYou two can talk, Iโ€™ll go to my room.โ€

But to my surprise, Benjamin called out to stop me. โ€œNo need. Stay here. Tyrone can say whatever he needs to. From now on, thereโ€™s no need to hide anything from Hayley. After all, sheโ€™ll soon be the Luna of our Midnight Pack.โ€

Tyrone understoodโ€”Benjamin fully trusted meโ€”and so he spoke openly. โ€œI found out what happened yesterday. It was Clarice who hired them.โ€

โ€œI also followed your instructions and gathered a lot of dirt on Clarice. However, when I contacted several media outlets, many of them hesitated to cover her scandals. It seems theyโ€™re wary of the powerful figures backing her.โ€

Hearing Clariceโ€™s name, a surge of anger rose within me. I had never even met her, yet she was trying to have me killed.

โ€œWho is the person backing her?โ€ I asked.

Tyrone hesitated for a moment, but eventually spoke a name. After hearing it, both Benjamin and I were taken aback.

Benjamin looked at Tyrone and commanded, โ€œWithin a week, I donโ€™t want to see this person in the entertainment industry again.โ€ His tone was calm but firm, the undeniable authority of an alpha radiating from him. There was no room for negotiation in his words.

Tyrone nodded respectfully. โ€œUnderstood, Alpha. Iโ€™ll handle it properly.โ€ Then, he turned and left.

Once he was gone, I turned to Benjamin. โ€œHonestly, if you hadnโ€™t intervened, I wouldnโ€™t have blamed you. After all, her background is pretty solid. If we go head-to-head with her, even if we hurt her, weโ€™ll suffer, too. So why risk it?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t care who it is, anyone who tries to harm you will pay double the price,โ€ he said, his gaze soft yet resolute. โ€œYou donโ€™t need to worry about this. Even if it means I have to suffer, I wonโ€™t let her get away with it.โ€

His words touched me deeply. I met his gaze and smiled softly. โ€œThank you, Benjamin. But donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™m not as fragile as you think. I wonโ€™t let anyone bully me easily.โ€

Benjamin raised an eyebrow, clearly about to ask me something, but I quickly changed the subject. โ€œYou take care of your work, Iโ€™m going to take a nap. We can grab some food later.โ€

He smiled warmly. โ€œSure.โ€

I went back to my bedroom and got down to business. I locked the door and opened the drawer of my nightstand. I took out the tablet and turned it on.
