Chapter 445: Sheโs Like a Demon
Hayleyโs POV: 82% +8 Pearls
My anger began to bubble when Loretta stepped between us, shielding me. She pointed directly at Kirsty and said, โPeople with real class donโt judge others based on their appearance. Just because you have an Alpha brother doesnโt give you the right to pick on someone weaker than you. Keep this up, and Iโm sure the Moon Goddess wonโt look kindly on it.โ
Kirsty scoffed. โWhatโs it to you? Stay out of this!โ
Lorettaโs eyes flared with fury; she seemed ready to shift into her wolf form and put Kirsty in her place. I quickly grabbed her arm, signaling her to calm down and offering a reassuring glance.
Loretta took a deep breath and turned back to me. โHayley, you should take her on. What are you afraid of? Youโve already shown youโre way better than her.โ
โThe instructor even said your time is on par with a professional athlete. She canโt beat you. Honestly, sheโs like a demonโsheโs just vile.โ
โWho are you calling vile?โ Kirsty snapped, glaring at Loretta, her finger pointing sharply.
Loretta rolled her eyes, unfazed. โDo you really think Hayleyโs scared of you? Sheโs just worried youโll get humiliated if she competes. Sheโs trying to save you from that embarrassment.โ
Kirstyโs anger boiled over, her jaw tightening as she shot a look at me. โSo, Hayley, are you brave enough to face me?โ
Watching the situation escalate, I decided to follow Heraโs advice and teach Kirsty a lesson. I calmly asked, โWhat do you want to compete in?โ
Kirsty immediately responded, โAnything. You choose. Iโm game for whatever.โ
Her words dripped with arrogance, and even the instructor shot her a concerned glance. But Kirsty ignored it, her eyes locked on me, daring me to make a move. โSo, whatโs it going to be? Do you dare?โ she taunted, her voice dripping with challenge.
The attention of everyone in the room shifted toward me, and Lorettaโs voice rang out with encouragement. โGo for it, Hayley!โ
I pressed my lips together, staying composed. โAlright.โ
When Kirsty heard my response, a smug grin spread across her face as though she had already won. Then, her grin widened, and she added, โWhatโs the point of just a regular competition? There has to be something at stake, something thatโll make this more interesting, right?โ
I raised an eyebrow, keeping my voice even. โWhat kind of bet do you have in mind?โ
Kirsty looked me over, sizing me up before replying, โIf you lose, youโll take off your mask in front of everyone. How does that sound?โ
Loretta immediately bristled, her voice sharp. โKirsty, youโre just trying to make this personal!โ
Kirsty ignored Loretta, still focused on me. โSo, whatโs it going to be? You afraid to make a bet?โ
I gave her a small smile. โAnd if you lose?โ
Kirsty threw her head back, clearly confident. โIโm an advanced werewolf. Do you really think you can beat me?โ
Loretta sneered, not hiding her frustration. โKirsty, before you start acting like youโre unbeatable, maybe you should think about your chances. The way youโre going on, itโs really starting to get on my nerves.โ
Kirsty just snorted and said, โFine, if I lose, Iโll do whatever you want.โ
I thought for a moment, calmly answering, โI donโt want anything else, just a public apology. Can you handle that?โ
Kirsty shrugged dismissively. โWhatever, fine. So, what are we competing in?โ
I shrugged casually, โYou choose. I wouldnโt want you to feel like Iโm forcing you into anything.โ
Kirsty, clearly irritated, snarled at me, โHayley, let me make this clear. Iโve been training with my Alpha brother since I was three. Every challenge in the training field is my specialty. Do you really think you can intimidate me? Pick whatever you want! But donโt you dare back out if you lose.โ
I nodded slowly, my eyes scanning the others around us.
