Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate: Chapter 459 Her Face? Itโ€™s Too Plain

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I thought it over for a moment, then shrugged with indifference. โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll step aside then.โ€

One of the girls, looking a little uneasy, spoke up, โ€œIsnโ€™t this a bit unfair? Kirsty was the one who asked Hayley to play the female leadโ€ฆ Doing this now doesnโ€™t seem right.โ€

โ€œDo you really think someone like her can be the lead?โ€

Since I had removed my mask, I had gone back to the old, unflattering makeup I wore during my time in the Midnight Pack, hoping to stay under the radar and avoid being recognized by Harmonyโ€™s fans.

โ€œYeah, the only one who could possibly stand next to Jay is someone like Kirsty. As for Hayley, sheโ€™s just an Omegaโ€ฆ Sure, sheโ€™s smart and has a nice figure, but her face? Itโ€™s too plain. What can you do?โ€

Comments stung, and Heraโ€™s anger stirred within me. The harsh words and cruel judgment fueled her rising fury. I took a deep breath and managed to calm Hera down, then spoke calmly, โ€œItโ€™s fine. Iโ€™ll back out. You can all continue without me.โ€

Kirsty, clearly surprised at how quickly I agreed, stared at me in confusion. I had figured it outโ€”she had brought Jay in to push me out of the play. With a self-satisfied grin, she replied, โ€œAlright, since thatโ€™s your choice, Iโ€™ll accept it.โ€

Without saying anything further, I turned and left.

As soon as I returned to my dorm, Christine showed up. โ€œHayley, I heard youโ€™re in the play for your department. How about you reconsider helping me out with that thing we talked about last time?โ€

I explained, โ€œIโ€™ve already pulled out of the play.โ€

Christine was taken aback. โ€œNo way! I just heard you were in it and now youโ€™ve quit? Why?โ€

I forced a smile. โ€œIโ€™m too ugly to be on stage.โ€

Christine cursed loudly. โ€œWhat? Who says youโ€™re ugly? Youโ€™ve been hiding your looks so your fans wouldnโ€™t recognize you! If they saw the real you, theyโ€™d regret it.โ€

I quickly interrupted her. โ€œAlright, alright. Itโ€™s not a big deal. I didnโ€™t really want to be in the play anyway. I just used this as an excuse to back out.โ€

After a brief silence, Christine said, โ€œSince youโ€™re out of the play, will you help me with the event Iโ€™m organizing?โ€

I hesitated for a moment. Feeling a bit cornered by her pleading, I finally agreed. โ€œAlright, but I have one condition.โ€

Christine practically bounced with excitement. โ€œAnything! Iโ€™ll agree to anything!โ€

I laid it out. โ€œIโ€™ll just perform a song and leave right after. Iโ€™ll wear a mask the whole time, and no one can find out who I really am.โ€

Christine nodded eagerly. โ€œYou can trust me. No one will know youโ€™re Harmonyโ€”โ€

Her voice was louder than necessary, so I quickly covered her mouth, worried someone might overhear. After all, there were plenty of high-ranking werewolves around, and their hearing was exceptional. Christine nodded again, and I finally let go of her.

The weekend came quickly. Early that morning, Benjamin called me. I quickly got ready and rushed to the school gate, where I spotted a Maybach parked nearby. Hera was eagerly urging me to get in. Just as I was about to walk toward the car, I saw Benjamin stepping out and heading toward me.

โ€œI just hung up ten minutes ago,โ€ he said, looking surprised.

I smiled. โ€œI didnโ€™t want to keep you waiting, so I rushed to get ready. Where are we going?โ€

Benjamin replied, โ€œGrandpaโ€™s old friend invited us for a visit.โ€

Hearing him mention Grandpa Southwell made my chest tighten. โ€œAlright, letโ€™s go then.โ€

I took Benjaminโ€™s hand, ready to go. Suddenly, a familiar voice called out from behind me, โ€œMs. Carson!โ€
