Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 478: Let It Go

Danielโ€™s POV:

The moment I realized his status matched mine, regret struck me instantly. He exploded in anger after I humiliated him so abruptly, shouting, โ€œWhatโ€™s your problem?โ€ Before he could finish, a figure darted in front of me, and the next thing I knew, a glass of wine splashed onto my face. โ€œF*ck!โ€ I cursed loudly, seething with rage. As I stood up, I realized it was Freya. Gritting my teeth, I forced myself to swallow my anger.

Freya shot me a glare before turning to the man I had insulted. โ€œMr. Woods, does this count as an apology? If not, I can throw another.โ€ Everyone around us, clearly intimidated by her, scrambled to mediate. โ€œCome on, letโ€™s not take this too far. Weโ€™re all friends hereโ€”just let it go, okay?โ€ โ€œExactly! Mr. Woods, Daniel, you two have been lifelong friends. Why ruin it over a drunken spat?โ€

Mr. Woods gave a reluctant wave, signaling the matter was resolved. โ€œThank you for understanding,โ€ Freya said with a polite smile. Then, turning to me, her expression hardened. โ€œYou, come with me.โ€ Without waiting, she strode toward the emergency exit.

When Freya and I pushed open the door, we stumbled upon a couple in the middle of a passionate moment. Her brows furrowed, and her commanding demeanor sent the pair scurrying away. One of them muttered โ€œB*tchโ€ as they left. As they brushed past us, I assumed the insult was directed at me. Balling my fists, I charged after them. โ€œWho are you calling names?โ€

โ€œGet back here!โ€ Freya barked, stopping me in my tracks. Reluctantly, I followed her into the stairwell. No sooner had I stepped inside than she slapped me across the face. The sting snapped me out of my drunken haze. Furious, I yelled, โ€œAre you insane?!โ€

Freya stared at me coldly. โ€œItโ€™s bad enough that you fool around with other women, but now youโ€™re targeting a college student from New College? Do you have any idea what kind of public backlash that could cause if something happened? Where is she?โ€

Rubbing my jaw, I spat to the side. โ€œSheโ€™s already gone. Iโ€™m not stupid enough to cause trouble for myself.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™d better not be,โ€ Freya warned. โ€œI donโ€™t want to hear about any more scandals before the wedding. If youโ€™re hell-bent on ruining yourself, donโ€™t drag me down with you!โ€ With that, she clicked away in her high heels, leaving me behind. I stared at her retreating figure, my fists tightening silently. If it werenโ€™t for the Sanders familyโ€™s massive fortune, Iโ€™d have kicked her to the curb long ago. Just waitโ€”after the wedding, sheโ€™ll see exactly what Iโ€™m capable of.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

As the car pulled out of the bar district, Benjamin glanced at Kirsty before turning to me. โ€œWhatโ€™s your plan?โ€ I sighed, looking at the unconscious Kirsty beside me. โ€œLetโ€™s find a hotel for her.โ€ If I had decided to help, I might as well see it through. In a strange place like this, I couldnโ€™t just dump her somewhere. If she ran into some sleazy werewolf, sheโ€™d be in real danger.

Benjamin lowered his gaze slightly and drove around the city center before settling on a hotel that seemed safe enough. Once we checked in, Benjamin led the way to the room. He leaned against the TV cabinet, typing on his phone, likely replying to work messages. I helped Kirsty onto the bed and then headed to the bathroom.

Kirstyโ€™s POV:

I groggily regained consciousness and blinked my eyes open. I realized I was lying in bed, surrounded by an unfamiliar environment. Slowly, I sat up, scanning the room. Not far away stood a tall, handsome man with a commanding presence. He looked an awful lot like Hayleyโ€™s fiancรฉ. Thinking I was dreaming, I blinked hard, pinched my arm, and even consulted my inner werewolf. Only then did I confirm this was real. I was actually in the same room as Hayleyโ€™s fiancรฉโ€”a drop-dead gorgeous man.
