Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 519: Tell the Truth, Now!
Thomasโ POV:
Benjamin had already pieced everything together and confronted her straightforwardly. โYou know why Iโm here.โ
โI know,โ Stephenie replied, her calmness stark against the tension of the moment. She seemed unsurprised by their appearance.
I, however, lacked Benjaminโs patience. In a rush of anger, I swept the drinks off the table in front of her, my actions loud in the quiet room. Then, showing my teeth in a growl, I demanded, โYou know, so talk! Where is Hayley?โ
โI donโt know,โ Stephenie answered coolly, unfazed. โAfter the money was transferred, they never contacted me again.โ
โDonโt force me to get violent,โ I warned, my anger mounting. โTell the truth now!โ I felt certain she was lying and clenched my fists in frustration.
She remained silent.
Benjamin, maintaining his composure, interrogated her methodically. โHow did Irving find you? How have you stayed in contact? How many times have you met, and where? I want every detail.โ
I could not grasp his calmness. โSheโs already been taken. Whatโs the point in rehashing the past? Shouldnโt we focus on finding where Hayley is now?โ
I glared at Stephenie, my disdain clear. โSometimes you need to fight fire with fire. Being nice isnโt going to make her talk!โ
I clenched my fist, prepared to take action if needed, in order to find Alpha Hayley. I signaled to two beta enforcers from our pack at the door. They charged toward Stephenie, ready to seize her.
However, Benjaminโs sharp command halted everyoneโs movement just as they were about to reach her. โShe was the last person to see Hayley. If you harm her, can you handle that responsibility?โ
His authoritative Alpha presence made me pause, reconsidering my approach. Reluctantly, I ordered my subordinates to back off, though my frustration simmered just below the surface.
Benjaminโs patience seemed to be wearing thin as well. โWhere is Irving?โ he pressed, stepping closer to Stephenie. His intense wolf eyes bore into her, his voice icy, demanding an answer that would chill anyone to the bone.
โWho is Irving Southwell?โ Stephenie asked, trembling lightly yet maintaining a defiant stance. She was unaware that Benjamin was the Alpha of the Midnight Pack and the dire implications of crossing him.
โThe person who transferred fifty million dollars into your account,โ Benjamin patiently clarified.
โOh, him.โ Stephenie seemed to recall something, then dismissed it casually. โI donโt really know him. Weโve only known each other for a few days. Weโre not close. Why would he share his whereabouts with me?โ
I looked at her with contempt and snorted. โNot close? So, youโre saying Irving is the kind of fool who just hands out money to random women he barely knows?โ
โI never said that,โ Stephenie retorted, with a sneer. โBut nothingโs impossible. Even an Omega like Hayley can attract unwanted attention. I have a few admirers who send me money too. Whatโs so strange about that?โ
My frustration boiled over. I wanted to shout out Hayleyโs true Alpha status and let the beta enforcers handle Stephenie properly! However, revealing Hayleyโs secret identity would compromise her entire strategy.
Unable to contain my anger, I strode forward and knocked the cup from her hand. I stepped up onto the couch, towering over her as I leaned in close, my wolf eyes glaring into hers as I pointed at her nose and threatened, โCut the nonsense. You better start telling the truth now!โ
Despite my looming presence, Stephenieโs resilience shone through; my intimidation did not sway her. โI really donโt know anything. Youโve got the wrong person,โ she insisted coolly.
My patience snapped. โDonโt force me to shift and tear you apart right here!โ
โBring it on,โ she taunted, undeterred by the threat. โIโve already struck a deal with a witch and freed myself from pack constraints. Do you think I fear you or any other high-ranking werewolves?โ
