AlphaHayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 55: Demoted to an Omega Like Us

Hayleyโ€™s POV

โ€œThomas, if Benjaminโ€™s company needs any help, do what you can, but make sure he doesnโ€™t know itโ€™s coming from you,โ€ I instructed.

On the other end of the line, Thomas exaggeratedly exclaimed, โ€œAlpha, you must have some misunderstandings about Benjamin! His means are well-known in the business world, and now that heโ€™s taken over as Alpha, thereโ€™s no way heโ€™d need our assistance!โ€

โ€œJust relax, Alpha. Itโ€™s just a small deal. It wonโ€™t make much of a difference to him, and he wonโ€™t be affected by it.โ€

Upon hearing that, I felt relieved. Benjamin, like me, was an Alpha, and his familyโ€™s wealth was vast. There was no way such a minor contract would concern him.

The next morning, the maid arrived right on time to wake me.

โ€œMs. Carson, itโ€™s time to get up. Iโ€™ve prepared your breakfast.โ€

Still groggy, I stretched and yawned. โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll be down in a few minutes.โ€

After lazily getting out of bed, I washed up, applied my makeup, put on my custom wig, and donned that unattractive disguise before heading downstairs. At the dining table, I saw Irving leisurely eating breakfast.

โ€œMorning,โ€ I greeted him.

โ€œMorning,โ€ he replied.

As I sat down, I asked, โ€œAre you driving me to school today?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ he said, placing his utensils down and checking his watch. โ€œWeโ€™ll leave in five minutes. Iโ€™ll be waiting for you at the door,โ€ he added before walking toward the exit.

I hurried to finish breakfast, grabbed a milk bottle, and followed him outside. During the drive, Irving stayed absorbed in company work on his iPad.

Irvingโ€™s personality was nothing like Henryโ€™s. While Henry was immature like a typical spoiled rich kid, Irving was quiet, reserved, and serious. Every time he drove me to school, he only spoke to me when necessary.

When we arrived at school, I bumped into Henry, who was holding a basketball and heading towards the gym. Our eyes met briefly. Though he seemed a bit hesitant, he still greeted me, โ€œMorning, Boss.โ€

The boys behind Henry, who were Beta rank, stood there shocked, their jaws literally dropping. โ€œHenry, are you out of your mind? Sheโ€™s just an Omega! Why are you being so respectful to her?โ€

Henry didnโ€™t bother explaining the bet.

I didnโ€™t pay much attention to their remarks either. I simply nodded and replied, โ€œGood morning.โ€ Then I brushed past him and made my way upstairs.

Thanks to my heightened hearing, I overheard Henryโ€™s friends muttering, โ€œHenry, are you crazy? Why are you calling that ugly Omega โ€˜Bossโ€™?โ€

I also heard Henry snap back at them, โ€œWhat ugly? Sheโ€™s my boss! None of you can mess with her, or Iโ€™ll teach you a lesson!โ€

His words made me smile. His attitude toward me had improved. But honestly, even without his protection, I knew no one could truly bully me. I might be disguised as an Omega, but I was still an Alpha.

As I walked upstairs and entered my calculus class, I found a seat and pulled out my textbook to review. Christine came over and handed me some snacks. โ€œHayley, here are my favorite chips for you!โ€

โ€œThanks,โ€ I said, accepting them.

She sat down next to me, looking around before whispering, โ€œI heard from my family that Rachelโ€™s family business is in serious trouble. They might even go bankrupt. Sheโ€™s also been demoted to an Omega like us!โ€

She then added indignantly, โ€œI wish thatโ€™s true. Sheโ€™s always so arrogant. I canโ€™t wait to see how she handles this!โ€

โ€œWho do you think is behind it? It must be someone powerfulโ€”since her family belonged to the Beta rank before.โ€

I replied calmly, โ€œIโ€™m not sure. But I hope you get your wish.โ€

โ€œI hope so!โ€

As we continued talking, Rachel suddenly walked into the classroom. Unlike her usual self, today she looked defeated. All the confidence and pride that she used to flaunt as a popular cheerleader seemed to have vanished. Right then, she glanced in my direction, and our eyes met.
