Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 569: Auxiliary Treatment

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Ian paused, then responded, โ€œWe canโ€™t confirm anything at this point. Further tests and examinations are needed. However, we can try some special medications. Their efficacy will depend on the clinical response.โ€

He continued, โ€œIโ€™ve been a doctor for many years, and treated many difficult cases, but this symptom is new to me. I donโ€™t have full confidence in this just yet.โ€

โ€œI understand,โ€ I nodded. โ€œThe primary treatment plan is entirely in your hands. But Iโ€™d also like to provide supplementary treatment for my grandmotherโ€”just basic needle therapy. It wonโ€™t interfere with your work, will it?โ€

โ€œNo, it wonโ€™t,โ€ Ian shook his head. โ€œI have a professor Iโ€™m familiar with at the Aexia Institute. Iโ€™ll invite them for a joint consultation. Hopefully, weโ€™ll have good news soon.โ€

โ€œNo, thank you,โ€ I immediately declined. โ€œI donโ€™t trust anyone else with this. Iโ€™ll handle the supplementary treatment myself.โ€

Back when I attended Alpha werewolf training at Aexia, I learned from the best doctors. I trust my own medical skills.

Ian hesitated, then smiled and nodded. โ€œMs. Carson knows needle therapyโ€”thatโ€™s good.โ€

He hesitated, then gently warned, โ€œBut Aexian needle therapy is a vast and complex technique. Using it in clinical treatment requires real skill. Mrs. Dorothyโ€™s condition canโ€™t handle too much trial and error.โ€

I understood his concern. Perhaps in his eyes, I was just an Omegaโ€”someone without great power or expertise, merely an enthusiast with a superficial understanding of medicine. He probably thought I could never treat patients properly.

โ€œDr. Wells, I respect your opinion and trust your authority, but no one understands my grandmotherโ€™s condition better than I do.โ€

With that, I stood up and walked out of the office.

Watching Hayley confidently leave, Ian felt a sense of defeat. After all, he was the most capable and youngest Beta doctor in all of North Annestone. Even many Alpha doctors from smaller packs struggled to get an appointment with him. But this Omega made him feel like his authority wasnโ€™t as solid as heโ€™d thought.

โ€œThis is the fiancรฉe youโ€™ve chosen?โ€ Ian raised an eyebrow at Benjamin, his face filled with frustration. โ€œSheโ€™s something else! As the future Luna of the Midnight Pack, sheโ€™s definitely qualified.โ€

Benjamin gave his shoulder a reassuring pat. โ€œSheโ€™s very close to her grandmother. Please try toโ€ฆโ€

Chapter 569: Auxiliary Treatment

โ€œI understand, but thatโ€™s not the point. Didnโ€™t you hear her just now? She wants to treat Dorothy herselfโ€”using some Aexian needle therapy, no less. Isnโ€™t that reckless?โ€

Even if this needle therapy truly worked wonders, Hayley was still young, probably just a novice at best. Now she wanted to practice on a patient whose life was on the line. Even though they were family, Ian couldnโ€™t allow such unprofessional behavior right under his nose.

Benjamin shot Ian a cold glance, then turned toward the door, his eyes narrowing. โ€œBefore she was brought to the hospital, Dorothy passed out. Hayley revived her with her needles.โ€

โ€œShe passed out?โ€ Ian hadnโ€™t known that detail. After hearing Benjaminโ€™s words, his expression grew more complicated.

As Benjamin said, Dorothyโ€™s first medical crisis was the most difficult. One wrong move could lead to the worst outcome. If, as Benjamin claimed, it was Hayley who saved her, then Ian had truly underestimated her. Without another word, Benjamin fell silent for a moment, then turned and left the room.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I sat alone on the bench in the hallway outside the hospital room, staring blankly ahead. A moment later, my phone buzzed with a text message. I glanced down at it, my hands clenched into fists. Her rage inside me was roaring.
