Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate: Chapter 578 โ Tell Him to Shut Up
Hayleyโs POV:
โHayley! You b*tch! What the hell did you do to me?โ Jonahโs voice was ragged and strained, his pain intensifying with each passing moment. Seeing him in this state, I could tell the poison was taking its toll. From this point on, his agony would only worsen.
โPlease, please, you have to help me! You need to fix this!โ he begged, desperation evident in his voice.
The more he pleaded, the more irritated I became. I was about to tell him to shut up when, as if reading my mind, Benjamin crouched down and knocked Jonah out with a single, swift blow.
โIf it werenโt for the fact that heโs so d*mn loud, Iโd let him stay awake and feel every second of this pain,โ Benjamin muttered, disgust lacing his voice. โLet him experience what itโs like for the women heโs hurt.โ
I walked over to them. I didnโt know Jonah well, but seeing how he and Daniel had worked together, it was clear they were cut from the same cloth. Daniel was despicable, and Jonahโhaving gone so far as to kidnap both me and Benjaminโwas no different. To deal with someone like him, I had used a special silver needle, laced with a witchโs poison. It was potent enough to make Jonah suffer until he could bear it no longer.
Now that he was unconscious, I almost felt like I was doing him a favor.
Benjamin stood up, took the jacket Iโd been holding, and slipped it on. He flashed me a grin. โHe was starting to get on my nerves. This is probably for the best.โ
I nodded in agreement, my gaze lingering on Jonahโs still form. A mischievous thought crossed my mind. Without hesitation, I crouched down again, produced a second, thinner silver needle, and pressed it to Jonahโs temple, pushing it in with satisfying force.
Benjamin raised an eyebrow. โAnother one of your creative ways of making someoneโs life miserable?โ
โPretty much,โ I replied flatly, showing no sympathy for Jonah. I drove the needle into his skull, then carefully withdrew it, enjoying the feeling of power I held over him.
Straightening up, I wiped my hands and turned to Benjamin. โLetโs go.โ
He didnโt ask any questions. He simply nodded and followed me to the car.
When we reached the club, we noticed several bank executives exiting the front entrance together.
โSorry for the delay, a little incident on the way,โ Benjamin said smoothly, his voice charming. He gestured toward the door. โGentlemen, please, come inside. Let me buy you a drink.โ
The bank executives exchanged glances but didnโt respond.
Then, a sharp, mocking voice cut through the air, drawing nearer.
โPlanning on calling for backup? You think you deserve any help?โ I immediately recognized Tinaโs voice.
As soon as I smelled her scent, Hera reacted with the same disgust and irritation I felt. Tina appeared before us, walking toward us with an arrogant smile.
Benjamin and I exchanged a brief glance, instantly understanding the situation. The bank executives had been bought off by Tina. There was no chance they would help Southwell Group. It was clear they were working with Tina to deliver the final blow.
I knew how these capitalists workedโthey only cared about money, regardless of who they were dealing with, even an Alpha like Benjamin.
Tina looked down at us with contempt.
โI gave you a chance, but you turned it down. Now look where you areโthis is all on you!โ she sneered.
I couldnโt resist mocking her. โSo, you think youโve won because of a few bank executives?โ
She laughed arrogantly. โYou really have a big mouth for someone in your position. Do you have any idea how much power one bank president holds over the flow of money? Any one of them could inject a loan into the Ortegas, dump it on the stock market, and Southwell Group would be finishedโcompletely ruined!โ she said, her eyes shining with wicked satisfaction.
โLoans are meant to be repaid,โ I replied coolly, offering her a cold smile.
โOf course,โ Tina continued, her smirk widening. โThe Ortegas have been using the stock market to crush the Southwells. Youโre already defenseless.โ
She leaned closer, her voice thick with arrogance. โAnd weโre not using the Ortegasโ money. No, weโre using your future in-lawsโ moneyโthe Southwellsโ money!โ
