Chapter 580: Mr. Ortegaโ€™s Condition Is Baffling

Tinaโ€™s phone rang urgently as she traveled to an appointment, delivering the unexpected news that Jonah had been injured. Without hesitation, she rushed to the hospital, her heart pounding with dread. Upon arrival, she found a group of perplexed doctors gathered around a motionless Jonah, a Rogue left incapacitated.

Jonah lay unconscious in the hospital room, his body unmoving and lifeless, as though his very essence had abandoned him. Tina immediately rushed to his side, her hands trembling as she shook him desperately. โ€œJonah! Please, speak to me! Wake up!โ€ she pleaded, her voice cracking with worry.

The lead doctor stepped forward, his face filled with concern, no longer able to avoid the unsettling truth. โ€œMr. Ortegaโ€™s condition is baffling,โ€ he explained, a serious tone in his voice. โ€œHe has no visible injuries, and no toxins have been detected in his system that could explain why heโ€™s unconscious. Weโ€™re completely at a loss here.โ€

โ€œWe attempted to have the elders call on his wolf, but thereโ€™s been no response. We really donโ€™t know what else we can do.โ€

Tinaโ€™s frustration exploded. โ€œWhat do you mean, you donโ€™t know what else you can do? Youโ€™re a doctor! How can you stand there and tell me you donโ€™t know whatโ€™s wrong with my son?โ€ she demanded, her finger pointing accusatorily at him.

โ€œI think youโ€™re just making excuses because youโ€™re incapable of helping him!โ€ she snapped, pacing around the room in fury. Her anger flared. โ€œI swear, if anything happens to Jonah before I can find the best doctor for him, I will make sure every single one of you in this hospital suffers the consequences!โ€

The room fell into an uneasy silence as everyone held their breath, afraid to speak out of fear of provoking her further.

Two hours later, Tina used her powerful family connections to bring in the most renowned specialists available for a consultation. But when the results came in, even these elite doctors could only shake their heads in defeat. โ€œThis condition is unlike anything weโ€™ve ever encountered before. We are completely stumped.โ€

Finally, one doctor spoke up after considering the case for a long while. โ€œIt appears to be a poisoning, likely caused by a witchโ€™s toxin,โ€ he suggested.

Tinaโ€™s anger flared at once, her face reddening. โ€œWhat are you talking about? How could my son possibly have any contact with witches?โ€ she demanded, her voice seething with disbelief.

The doctor looked helpless, almost apologetic. โ€œTo treat the poison, you would need to find the person responsible for doing this to Mr. Ortega,โ€ he explained gently. โ€œMrs. Ortega, perhaps you should consider who your son might have recently upset,โ€ he added, before sighing and walking away.

Tina stood frozen for a few moments, processing the doctorโ€™s words. When she regained her composure, her sharp eyes locked onto one of Jonahโ€™s subordinates, a Rogue who had been standing quietly nearby.

โ€œTell me, who did this to my son?โ€ she demanded in a low, dangerous voice.

The subordinate hesitated before stammering, โ€œIt was Alpha Benjamin and his fiancรฉe.โ€

โ€œMr. Daniel had instructed us to send some rogue wolves after them, but Mr. Jonah insisted on going himself. We couldnโ€™t stop him. When we arrived, we saw that the woman was just an Omega, so we didnโ€™t think much of her. But before we knew it, she ambushed Mr. Jonah while we werenโ€™t paying attention. Before we left, she even stuck a few needles into his head. When we got back to him, Mr. Jonah had already lost consciousness.โ€

โ€œHโ€“Hayley?โ€ Tinaโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief.

โ€œYes, it was her,โ€ the subordinate confirmed nervously.

Tinaโ€™s jaw clenched with fury as she hissed through her teeth, โ€œHayleyโ€ฆ I will make you pay for this.โ€

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Benjamin and I had just stepped out of Grandmaโ€™s hospital room when Hera, sensing an ominous presence, began to grow uneasy. I looked up to find Tina standing before us. Benjamin immediately positioned himself between Tina and me, sensing her rage before I did.

Hayley spat, her voice seething with fury, โ€œWhat have you done to my son? My son is lying in a hospital bed because of you!โ€ she yelled, her eyes filled with venom. โ€œHeโ€™s unconscious, and his wolf hasnโ€™t even responded! What did you do to him?โ€

Despite her angry outburst, I simply smiled, calm and unfazed. โ€œYou donโ€™t need to thank me yet,โ€ I said in a controlled, almost indifferent tone. โ€œIt was no trouble fulfilling your sonโ€™s wishes.โ€

Tinaโ€™s face twisted with outrage as she spat on the floor. โ€œWho asked for your help? Youโ€™ve nearly killed my son, and now you think you can just walk away like nothing happened?โ€ she sneered.

โ€œIf Jonah doesnโ€™t wake up, you and that old woman inside better not think youโ€™ll get away unscathed. If anything happens to him, I swear, Iโ€™ll transform into a wolf and rip the two of you apart.โ€

I remained unshaken by her threats, my face an unreadable mask. Benjamin, however, was done with her. His wolf-like eyes glinted with a dangerous intensity as he stepped toward Tina, his voice low and threatening, โ€œIf youโ€™re not afraid to die, you can try that right now.โ€
