Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 619: The Perfect Daughter
Hayleyโs POV:
With a somber expression, Alan scolded Virginia, โWhat nonsense about an adopted daughter? Freya and Michelle are both our daughters, both part of this family.โ
โYou must be losing your mind. Watch what you say!โ
โYouโre the one losing your mind, Alan! Look around! Michelle saved you, and yet you defend a murderer over your own daughter?โ
โI know what Iโm doing,โ Alan retorted, clearly annoyed. โFrom now on, no one is to mention that Freya is adopted.โ
โFine! Iโm done arguing with you!โ Virginia snapped, retreating into a sullen silence.
I watched coldly, unsurprised by their reactions and attitudes towards Freya. Freya had been with them for over a decade, playing the role of the perfect, dutiful daughter, while I was just the newfound biological daughter. Alan had clearly already made his choice. It was obvious he hadnโt seen Freyaโs true, sinister nature.
โIโm tired. Please leave,โ I said icily.
In that moment, my hopes of living with these so-called parents evaporated.
โHayley,โ Heraโs soothing voice echoed in my mind, sensing my distress.
โVery well, get some rest,โ Alan conceded. โFreya has made arrangements. Thereโs a car waiting outside. Weโll head back first.โ
โWhenever youโre ready to come home, just have someone bring you to The Sanders Residence.โ
He started to leave, but I halted him with determination. โNo need. Iโm a Carson. The Sandersโฆ you and your perfect daughter.โ
Alan slowly turned back, disbelief and a hint of reproach in his gaze. โYou bear the Sanders bloodline. The Sanders is your real home.โ
โNow that youโre back, you should live at The Sanders Residence, where we can hold a reception to officially introduce you to the family and our key partners.โ
My hands clenched into fists, my anger barely contained.
โLet Hayley make her own decisions,โ Virginia unexpectedly came to my defense. She looked at me with an apologetic expression and continued, โHayley is currently living in town for school. Itโs not far from our home, and she can visit whenever she wants.โ
Then she turned to Alan, gently patting his shoulder. โGive Hayley some time, Alan.โ
She paused, then added, โThe Carsons raised Hayley. The gratitude for raising her far surpasses the debt of birth. We canโt expect Hayley to abandon them and act ungrateful.โ
Alan considered this, seemingly persuaded. He nodded and said, โThen go back and explain everything to the Carsons.โ
โAfterwards, you should move back here. If the Carsons are willing, they can come live at The Sanders Residence with you.โ
โI have no intention of going back,โ I replied, my voice firm.
โWhat?!โ Alanโs eyes widened, his expression turning stern.
