Chapter 668 Asshole!
Hayleyโs POV:
They shoved the two women forward as they spoke, forcing them to stand before me. The moment Hera caught their scent, my suspicion was confirmed. One of the women was none other than Vivian, the woman Benjaminโs mother had always been fond of. It seemed she had undergone cosmetic surgery; she wasnโt as naturally beautiful as before.
โWere you invited by Benjamin to dance for entertainment?โ Claudio leaned in, his tone dripping with mockery.
I held back a chuckle.
โAsshole!โ Vivian shot him a furious glare. โHow dare you lump me together with those lowly women who sell their bodies and talents?!โ
Claudioโs expression turned stern. โWho are you calling an asshole?โ
โYou, obviously!โ Vivian snapped, her arrogance flaring. โDo you think a mere Beta like you can look down on me?โ
โHa! I canโt stand people like you. Looks like someone needs to be taught a lesson,โ Claudio sneered, already gearing up to strike.
โThatโs enough,โ I stopped him.
Striding toward Vivian, I loomed over her, my voice calm yet laced with warning. โThis is my territory. You barge in uninvited, and yet you expect courtesy? What would you do if I shifted into my wolf form and crushed your arm between my jaws?โ
I let the words sink in before adding, โOr do you truly believe your status allows you to do as you please here?โ
Vivian bristled, her anger boiling over. โI have nothing to say to you! Bring Benjamin out; I want to talk to him face to face!โ
Tilting my head slightly, I glanced at Benjamin and said flatly, โSheโs here for you. Handle it yourself.โ
Furrowing his eyebrows, Benjamin got to his feet and stepped forward.
โWho are you?โ The moment he spoke, Vivianโs eyes widened in shock, her expression instantly shifting to disappointment.
โIโm Vivian! Not long ago, you were the one trying to match us! You even arranged for us to meet several times. Donโt you remember?โ As she spoke, her resentful gaze snapped toward me.
I met her glare head-on, utterly unfazed.
A beat later, Benjamin spoke in a low voice, completely indifferent, โI never bother remembering insignificant people or things.โ
The sheer iciness in his tone instantly lifted my mood. Even Hera, who had been itching to teach Vivian a lesson, reined in her impulses.
Vivianโs fists clenched tight, her knuckles turning white with humiliation. A vein pulsed on her forehead as she looked on the verge of losing it.
After a moment of silence, she seemingly regained her composure. Then, she forced a smile and spoke sweetly to Benjamin, โItโs fine. If you donโt remember the past, then weโll just make new memories. Ben, come with me to the Midnight Pack. You donโt belong here.โ
Locking eyes with him, she continued, her tone thick with feigned sincerity, โBen, I know everything now. The Southwells are suffocating you, pushing you into a corner. But donโt worry, Iโll help you. Iโll make sure you take back your rightful place as their leader. Youโre an Alpha of the Midnight Pack. You shouldnโt be wasting your time in a rundown place like this, surrounded by worthless people.โ
I let out an amused scoff at her blatant shamelessness, meeting her gaze head-on and cutting straight through her act. โInstead of pretending to be affectionate, you might as well be honest and talk directly about your conditions, so you can appear more sincere.โ
